Halfway through the debate I was chewing on the furniture.
Kerry let Bush punch him repeatedly yet never seemed to engage and counterpunch.
If he'd just chosen the "Bush is a misleader" theme the could have had a field day.
Sadly, he failed to respond adequately and missed the chance to force a Bush misstep with repeated jabs. Leaving Bush's composure intact had to a large mistake but failing to respond leaves Americans subconciously wondering how he'd respond to larger threats.
Jeez, I had such high hope, too.

You don't have to slam someone with idiotic ad hominem's to score big punches. Kerry has the facts; Bush has jack. Most intelligent people can see that quite easily.

I'm talking about compare and contrast. ---- Kerry:"I'm for you because... President Bush has had four years to fix the problem but sided with big corporations and special interests against you..."
Bush: "Just like a Mass. liberal... tax and spend..."
Kerry: "I helped balance the budget. President Bush with Repub control of both houses is running up a charge card debt of trillions for our grandchildren..." ---- Hells bells, I'm not talking about juvenile name calling. The voters are faced with a choice. Define Bush with his record. Define yourself with solid proposals. All in one answer. Emphasize the CHOICE and why chosing Bush has proven he's not the one and your SOLUTIONS.

3. You missed the purpose then |
|
It was to bring his plans to the people and bury Bush with facts. He did it easily. And Bush brought up repetitious education rhetoric and God. Wohoo. Kerry didn't need to punch him, he was punching himself.

4. Kerry let Bush dig his own grave before he finished him off |
|
It was so obvious that Bush was ranting out of his ass half the time that Kerry did not even have to respond.
