I did not get a chance to watch the debate, but I have thought
about this for a long time. I remember when OBL was issuing a
video every month like clock work to Al Jazeera TV station.
He even sent the video where he was gloating about how he
masterminded 911.

Now be honest, what is the last time we have seen ANY video
of Osama which would confirm he is alive? I have not! The
Al Qaeda throws out a grainy voice recording of Osama once
in a while, but the video's are always from Jawahiri.

There is just no way a man with the ego of OBL would stay
silent for 2 years. His video's are known to be tremendous
morale boosters for his mis-guided followers.

So why have'nt we seen his Video's, but keep seeing video's
of his lieutenants? Obviously Al Qaeda does not want the news
of Osama's demise publicized since it would have a terribly
bad demoralizing effect on the Jihadi's.

had the Egyptian doctor (his name escapes me now) talking about "carrying on the fight even if we are killed or captured."

Made me wonder if he was surrounded, or if OBL was dead, or something like that. The tone and the things said were much different than the last vids.

But it won't be portrayed as a Bush lie as much as a lack of focus on the terrorist who was responsible for 9/11. That is MUCH better for Kerry.

Kerry's argument is Bush improperly shifted the focus on terror by targeting Iraq. Any leader who properly isolated Bin Laden and Al Queda after 9/11 would never have made such a grossly flippant comment about Bin Laden's whereabouts or importance. Especially after the "wanted dead or alive" bullshit bravado in the days after 9/11.

Bush's numbers as a leader and on national security will fall if that clip is portrayed as much as I think it will be.
