From Begala's blog...

Last question: Do you love your wife? Give me a break. We have the worst environmental record in American history, and it was never mentioned. The Supreme Court is likely to have several vacancies -- the candidates were never asked about it. But we know they love their wives. Great.

(BTW he says Kerry won)

3. best blog line so far...
Why, oh why are we back in Iraq? Bush seems determined to drag the debate and the campaign back into Baghdad. Not only are 138,000 troops stuck there, Bush is stuck there as well. He doesn't even have a rhetorical exit strategy

4. Yes, Bob Scheiffer is out of touch with the concerns of Americans about
the environmental disaster Bush has created. Sad, NOT a single question about the environment, or energy policy, or stem cell research.

Yes, Americans will be comforted that the candidates love their wives as they gasp for their last breath.

8. The environment and STR were covered last week
I thought it was a good question. Much of what we will see with the next president is their human side. This hasn't been shown too much during the campaign. It's been all talking points and attacks.

Nice to see the last debate actually end on a warm, positive note.

5. That wasn't the question
It was what have you learned from the women in your lives. I thought it was a very interesting question and Kerry said integrity, integrity, integrity. Bush said... to stand up and not scowl???

7. I think it was a good question
One thing missing from the other debates is a more personal question. I think people want to know the personal side of a person they're going to have to put up with for the next four years. And it really worked to Kerry's advantage, since he is not one to really show his personal side. He showed some true warmth, and I think this will work to his advantage.

Like it or not, politics boils down to a popularity contest.

14. I agree
He seemed very respectful and loving towards his family, showed humility and that he could joke about himself, was gracious to the Bush women; it was one of his best moments of the night and just what women voters want. And it was real.

9. if people gave two hoots about the issues
it wouldn't even be a race, Kerry would be picking Bush bits out of his teeth. Its a sodding popularity contest, its voting for class captain, its pathetic, but its sadly a valid question in todays political arena

12. And asking Bush just how much he loves God and why
was obviously the softest softball question of all time in any debate. It was intended I guess to let Bush pander to his base. I was even more astounded with that question than the one about the wives.

13. He did ask a Supreme Court question.
Bush said he had no litmus test. Kerry said he would appoint judges who would uphold the Constitution. Bush said that meant Kerry had a litmus test.
