7. What We'll Learn After Nov 2nd About Polls |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 10:41 PM by evworldeditor
I voted tonight after the debate at Yahoo,ABC,and MSNBC; all show Kerry winning by 3 to 1 70-85 % against Bush's 29% or less.
Yet, all the polling organizations -- the Gallups and Zoogby's -- show it supposedly neck 'n neck.
I keep wondering why the disparity? I consider myself a progressive (I am actually still registered a Republican, I just learned) and will vote for Kerry in a heartbeat. Most nights I take part in the polls on Lou Dobbs or Anderson Cooper in CNN and typically fall into the majority on nearly every issue, so I figure I fall into the "mainstream" of people who bother to vote on those polls.
So, is the disparity because the "mainstream" doesn't use the Internet? When I started working on the Internet in 1993, that might have been true, but I doubt it is any longer. My father who turned 77 this week is an active Internet user.
Any thoughts on what's going on here?
I guess we'll learn after Nov 2nd just which "polls" most accurately reflect the mood of the country; the Gallup/Zoogby variety or the online versions?
I hope its the later.

9. rednecks dont use the internets |

Lots of people still cant get past the main pages of their aol browser, let alone vote in an online poll. These are the majority of the idiots that still think bush is a "strong leader" in the red states. Growing up and living around DC, I am used to generally smart people, but once you take a trip to some of these rural areas, you wonder, wtf country am i in!! :-)
