3. I'm literally in tears right now. |

Crying of relief.
This could be it. If we back-up the spin in the next 48 hours, our chances of victory.. wow..
God, please let the nightmare end! Send us this Massachusetts liberal!

4. No news to anyone here, but the talking heads are so out of touch |
|
Kerry spoke to issues that affect middle class families like mine--education, social security, minimum wage, and health care (would have loved to hear a question on the environment).
The members of the chattering class were ready and poised to spin the "wonky" debate. I read earlier today that Kerry planned to present a lot of facts and statistics. That story sent the bobbing heads into a tailspin -- and, judging from their commentary, they never recovered. The debate was all wonky and facts and figures (most of it from Kerry).
Well, some of those figures mean a lot to people. Like the minimum wage being stuck at $5.15 for seven years. Why not bring up the point that the idiot-in-chief, who has been on vacation for 40 percent of his term, didn't even answer the question about raising the minimum wage. There were many, many other examples--but because the issues like the spiraling costs of health care and college, and the shrinking salaries of the middle class don't affect the millionaires who are regurgitating spin points, I guess they're not worth discussing. (But as the instant scientific polls are showing, Kerry did gain some ground by talking about these issues in depth.)
And, one other quick thing--speaking of spin points. Didn't the fact that Bush lied about Osama originate with the DNC rapid response team? Good for them. It's clear the pundits love this kind of spin...so let's keep dishing it up to them on a nice shiny plate.
