I was VERY impressed by Kerry's answers tonight.
Overall from the superficial appearances thing, I think shrubya did about what HE needed to do in that he delivered his lines and mostly didn't step on his dick, even though he did have the weird asymnetric crazyman grin going on. (The smirk is back?) So he probably conquered his "soft bigotry" of lowish expectations and got a media "tie" I'll bet.

But JK's actual ANSWERS were really good, I thought. Like his answer about outsourcing jobs to competing nations. A really thoughtful answer. And his pointing out details on health care, like the fact that he is on Blue Cross, was, I thought a very nice touch. JK's answers came across as very well thought out.

I did think that the lighting/makeup scheme was less favorable to JK than previously though, he looked somewhat older than before.

1. Also, I really liked it that Kerry came out unequivocally as a defender of
Roe v. Wade. Yes! And that he was also pretty unequivocal in drawing the lines of class warfare... making it clear that shrubco is the buddy of rich people and rich concerns (pharm. companies). It IS class warfare and it's a dumb move to shy away from this.

2. Kerry did very well...
I'm glad he answered questions with more specifics and details. He seemed
like a sane grown-up, as opposed to Bush's strange geriatric brat, looking
like a puppy who wants a pat on the head because he manages a coherent
sentence while battleing mouth droop.

4. Home runs for Kerry:
Tying AK-47s to terrorism- mentioning bin Laden handbook. also saying he would have fought Delay as it was worth it and mentioned Clinton doing same in passing original bill.

Talking about the minimum wage and how we need it- mentioning "consumption power" it would give to economy. GREAT sound bite!

The gay choice question was a tear jerker for me. Awesome answer. What a great human being this man is.

There were many more.
