Cleland, 60, is still livid over a now-infamous TV commercial that Republican challenger Saxby Chambliss ran against him. It opened with pictures of Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein, then attacked Cleland for voting against President Bush's Homeland Security bill. It didn't mention that Cleland supported a Democratic bill that wasn't radically different.

"That was the biggest lie in America -- to put me up there with Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein and say I voted against homeland security!" he says, his voice rising in anger.

7. Max isn't running for Zell's seat (Zell's retiring) so I'd say he's not

interested in a race this year. Can you blame him? Bush and Cheney and Poppy Bush and even Laura Bush came to Georgia to campaign for Chambliss against Max.

2. Cleland is barnstorming in Iowa.

He's been speaking to veterans' groups and telling them all about Bush, firsthand. Many of them are hearing about Bush's antics for the first time.

He heads up Veterans for Kerry.

3. Max Clelland did not stand up

against the BFEE - he let them run roughshod over him - and to make it even worse, will someone please tell me why he vacated his seat on the 9/11 commission to "accept" a job at the Import/Export Bank under the BFEE?

and the rest of those assholes who tried to run horrible ads all over the country. The Wellstone attacks were some of the worst I'd seen. He'd of won though, if it weren't for the crash.

Cleland was ripped off, plain and simple. A draft avoider like Chambliss shouldn't be able to run ads like that and not go to hell.

On a side note, I knew the guy who saved his life, and he was running for a Wisconsin legislature spot last election cycle too. Unfortunatley, like Max, he lost.

That Bush worshipping fraud is retiring, why not replace him with an actual Democrat?
