My biggest surprise of the debate? No qustion on ENERGY!
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 11:03 PM by Calico_Janitor
Was the shallowness of the questions, esp. God and "our Womenfolk" while avoiding the ONE issue Kerry mentioned earlier this week... The one issue that could excite voters with the VISION.

The project to create ENERGY INDEPENDENCE/ alternatives-- which of course ties in with JOBS and SAVINGS and QUALITY of life and HEALTH COSTS and....

Not to mention security, trade issues and diplomatic leverage as we SHARE energy solutions with impoverished ares to treat water, etc. therby spreading goodwill while preemptively avoiding the spread of dying petro infrastructures and their problems...

I believe the SYNERGY of this issue would resonate with many. Is this clear to anyone else here how this is a nexus issue.

1. Ugh, the question about the strong women in their lives
was a good one in my opinion. It gives the candidates a chance to be human for a moment, gives credit to the women who helped them get to where they are, and also lets women like me see if they are respectful of women or not.

Lucky for George he managed NOT to mention that he wants to put his daughters on a leash.

3. it was a horrible, inappropriate question
oooh, shocker there, both candidates came out in support of their wives and daughters.

yeah, that sure helped the undecideds in america choose the next president.

all it did was make that overprivileged, psychopathic, coke-addled sh*tser seem just as human as the rest of us.

blecch

2. i thought the questions were HUGELY in bush's favor
name a past debate in which they questioned the candidate's faith?

name a past debate in which they sat around and said, gee, ain't our women great?

name a DOMESTIC policy debate that had so much discussion of foreign policy, border control, drafts, overseas wars and british vaccines?

some of the questions assumed "facts not in evidence" such as the social security question (papau has railed many times that it's NOT the problem it's made out to be) and the "how will you pay for it all" question. he asks KERRY how he'll pay for it all when SHRUB is the one who maxed out the federal credit cards???
