it's funny as hell people view it as a smear or an ugly tactic.
Immagine if Kerry had said Cheney's daughter was mother to his grandchildren. Would that be UGLY? Would it be "below the belt?"
WHY THE FUCK IS IT SO UGLY TO MENTION THAT AN OUT GAY PERSON IS GAY?
Think about it... Everyone who's outraged is showing that they think being gay is a categorical negative like being an alcaholic or shoplifter.
Yet nobody on TV even seems able to wrap their head around the idea that gay doesn't equal shameful.
