LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Democrats on Wednesday charged that the national Republican party was linked to a group accused of trying to stop Democrats from registering to vote in at least two Western battleground states, Nevada and Oregon.

The accusations come as voters rush to meet registration deadlines and election officials around the country report surging registrations, with just three weeks to go in the cliffhanger U.S. presidential campaign.

"We have learned from news reports that a Republican organization, Voters Outreach for America, has been registering voters and then ripping up the forms when registers identify themselves as Democrats," Democratic National Committee (news - web sites) chairman Terry McAuliffe said in a telephone briefing.

1. Listened to that on NPR today. A couple of college-age students hired by
this fly-by-night outfit to register voters had not been paid. They go to HQ to get their checks and discover supervisors destroying registrations signed by Democrats. Other employees had reported being trained to 'brush off' Democrats if possible and go for the RePukes.
One employee grabbed some of the Democratic registrations; a scuffle ensued; the supervisor got the torn-up registrations back. The student grabbed more out of the wastebasket on his way out. He and his GF turned them in to a local TV station, who confirmed with the county office that none of the Democrats who had 'registered' with this group were actually registered to vote.
Several other employees also came forward with the same tale.

Jeebus, they are completely consciousless...no wonder the Simian Imbecile in the WH is so damn defensive all the time; it must be HARD WORK to be the pResident when you know you sit in that oval office only as a result of fraud, theft, and deceit. And they are trying to do it again!

2. Here in CA if I took somone's registration form I had to sign my name and
give my phone number on a stub at the bottom. I had to give that stub to the person who's form I was to mail in. That way, if they show up on election day without being registered they have someone to blame.

If they mailed in their own I didn't have to sign it.

I wonder if these other states do the same thing and if the people who think their registration form is mailed in have the stub they can identify the people who did this.
