Poll question: OK. Here we go. Kerry bringing up Cheney's daughter
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 11:58 PM by lib4life
The media has decided that this is Kerry's dirty trick of the night. I thought it was probably unnecessary, (You know how it looks), but hardly worthy of the outrage it received.

1. I don't even like the choices
I''d pick "redundant". It's not "fair game" or "dirty politics" because dick himself has talked about it and she used to be the lesbian at Coors.

2. It's fair game
because this administration has called for a constitutional amendment that descriminates against gay and lesbian citizens. How cold is that especially if someone on the ticket has a lesbian daughter?

3. Not "fair game". "Valid example" would be a better choice.

12. VALID example......correct
quote......
KERRY: We're all God's children, Bob. And I think if you were to talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian, she would tell you that she's being who she was, she's being who she was born as.

-----end quote
I see nothing wrong with using her as an example in this context. He was not trying to inflame. He was answering Schieffer's question with a well know person.

4. No problem, let's keep talking about Gay hate
America is not bothered about mention of our Gay brothers and sisters. It's a desperate act by neo-cons to distract us from the poor performance by a drooling smirk.

5. Leave Cheney's daughter out of it
Calling Dick a "hypocrite" is insane. Is not Mary Cheney her own person?

7. I must be behind ...

Who is outraged? Freepers?

Colour me unimpressed.

And the next time they start talking about how unattractive (to summarize their bile politely) Chelsea Clinton was, tell them to go to hell and suck on a jar of mayonnaise that's been sitting out in the sun for a week. (And then show them a picture. The girl is simply fine ... brains and beauty.)

9. It was a good point made by Kerry and completely fair.
no different than Bush using Missy Johnson- just putting a human face on an issue.

11. Edwards did it during his debate...
and Cheney was (or, at least, acted) incredibly magnanimous about it. I don't see a problem here.

13. How could this be BAD?? SHE"S GAY!
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 12:17 AM by Caliphoto
She knows she's gay. Her family knows she's gay. Her partner knows she's gay. The freepers know she's gay. The White House knows she's gay. The RNC knows she's gay. CHENEY declared it in 2000, PLUS she's WORKS ON THE BUSH CAMPAIGN ON GAY ISSUES?!!! How is it wrong to bring that up? Now.. if Kerry had mentioned that Bush's daughter's were trashy, smoking, lushes.. perhaps that might be bad... not untrue, but bad form. But GAY? Is that an INSULT now?
