The Last Question Was A Godsend For Kerry
I know that this goes against all logic here at DU, but swing voters really want to be reassured that their leaders are genuine people. Kerry was clearly the smarty pants on the stage from Day One, but this last question gave him a chance to show a more human side.

I've always known it was there because I've done my reading and found plenty of examples of an amazing guy (not to mention meeting him a few times in the early days of the campaign). But I can understand how someone with only one eye on the race could miss Kerry's warmer qualities - it is stupid to suggest that he can't be distant and even boring at times.

But there is a real man there, with real heart and soul and a love of service - a real belief in the call Kennedy sent out famously and eloquently. If America hadn't seen it before, they saw Kerry the man in final moments of the debates tonight.

Shrub looks like that kid in calc class who was always looking over other people's shoulders for the answer to a test question.

3. Several Times He Looked Like "Hey, Is That True?"
He sometimes seemed genuinely surprised by some of the statistics JK was trotting out.
