Saw Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. give lecture tonight...
at Southeastern Louisiana University and he was utterly MAGNIFICENT!!! I know most people on this board are very well aware of his role on environmental issues, but seeing him in person and feeling the conviction in his heart, up close and personal has really hit home with me, and I left the auditorium as inspired as I've ever been!!! WHERE DO I SIGN UP!!!

Perhaps the biggest inspiration came from the crowd (packed house in south Louisiana by the way) which seemed to follow every word intently and there was an air of electricity that you rarely find in your typical lecture. I was pleasantly surprised to find so many people from my community that feel the way I do on political and environmental issues.

I was also impressed that Kennedy took the time to sign autographs and meet & greet the audience as we exited. I was particularly struck when one lady had two copies of his latest book and only gave him one to sign given the line was so long. As she walked away, he flagged her down and asked if she wanted him to sign the other copy which she gladly accepted. Now I ask you, how many people of his stature would do that?!!!

The downside was that I missed most of the debate live, but it was MORE THAN WORTH IT!!!

4. Another source of revenue to pay for
Kerry's plans. Big fines for big polluters.

5. Absolutely, and RFK did a superb job of equating sound environmental...
policy to good business sense. He talked about how corporate polluters and misguided politicians basically mortgage our future for short term economic gain which costs us dearly over the long haul. I'm too tired to go into specifics, but if you've read his latest book, CRIMES AGAINST NATURE, you get the idea. Essentially, he laid out a viable plan that makes sound, economic sense and protects the environment at the same time.
