1. Hope they start running it again immediately
People have to see this to believe it. Makes you sick inside, the way he just dismisses bin laden.

42. We are not stupid ,however ....
apprently about half of the voters are ! Its amazing to me that after losing all three debates , and showing his own lack of intelligence, that this is even a close race. If bush wins (excuse me I have to go throw up) and its not because they stole it again. It will make it official that the Americans who gave him another four years ,have even less brains then bush. It takes a real fool to support an idiot like bush that has blatantly lied to them while looking directly at them. Forgive them Lord ,cause I sure cant. Over one thousand young men lives swept away on a war that did not have to be ,and countless inocent Iraqies. The dept of his closeness to his God ,does not exsist. They say Kerry will say anything to get elected, how about someone that uses religon to fool others into supporting him. Thats about as low as you can go !

The Bush & Co. admin. and its customers are all a bunch of untrustworthy f***-ups! Dismissing things is a habit for them. They don't have the courage or HONESTY to confront problems.

15. Whats sad is...
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 08:24 AM by ChrisK
that this commercial needs to be played again now because folks out there have forgotten that he (the President) said he doesn't think about it much and lied last night saying he never said that.

I wish I knew what it would take for folks out there to turn ignorance aside and see whats happening to there country and its people...one day, if they keep ignoring the issues and what effects it is having on all people it will bite them square in the back side and the only person they can look to blame for it will be themselves.

Facts can only be avoided for so long....

he could have been talking about anybody. i wish the dnc had used a longer clip where he mentions obl by name. then the ad would be more impactful.

45. John Kerry's brilliant gamble!!!
I think air napkin's comments need some elaboration. John Kerry, being the astute fellow that he is, took a risky gamble but got the payoff! He gave Bush a golden opportunity to try to come up with an excuse to mitigate his indication that he is not "truly concerned" about Mr. Been Forgotten. Bush could have simply said something like, "I spoke too quickly. I meant that I am unconcerned about Bin Laden's power growing, and it has not." Instead, as Kerry presciently foresaw, without his handlers to guide him, Bush resorted to his natural tendency when confronted by some unpleasant fact, that is, HE LIED!!!
So now the Bushies are faced not only with the troubling tape of Bush telling the world his true feelings about Been Forgotten, but also they must confront the fact that Bush lied before millions of voters.
John Kerry surely is a man with many aces.

24. Here are links to the two transcripts
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/03/20020313-8.html

Scroll about 1/3 of the way down.

"So I don't know where he is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him, Kelly, to be honest with you." (snip) "And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him."

Transcript from last night:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6243023/

KERRY: ... Six months after he said Osama bin Laden must be caught dead or alive, this president was asked, “Where is Osama bin Laden?” He said, “I don‘t know. I don‘t really think about him very much. I‘m not that concerned.”

We need a president who stays deadly focused on the real war on terror.

SCHIEFFER: Mr. President?

BUSH: Gosh, I just don‘t think I ever said I‘m not worried about Osama bin Laden. It‘s kind of one of those exaggerations.

34. Ah, but the media still loves to expose a good lie.
And, this is a whopper.

With the exception of Fox, sensationalism still tends to rule out over partisanship at most of the major news orgs. This story might end up with longer legs than you'd ever expect.

31. This is from the White House web page 3/12/2002
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/03/2002031...

3/12/2002

"Q    But don't you believe that the threat that bin Laden posed won't truly be eliminated until he is found either dead or alive?

THE PRESIDENT:  Well, as I say, we haven't heard much from him.  And I wouldn't necessarily say he's at the center of any command structure.  And, again, I don't know where he is.  I  --  I'll repeat what I said.  I truly am not that concerned about him.  I know he is on the run.  I was concerned about him, when he had taken over a country.  I was concerned about the fact that he was basically running Afghanistan and calling the shots for the Taliban."

Mr Bush - I remember very well that press conference and I'm just a humble peasant in your kingdom. You, sir, are a cowardly, lying sack of shit.

35. My wife usually refuses to
watch Bush on tv. She is a psychiatric social worker, and specializes in domestic violence and substance abuse. She will often joke about dealing with enough people like George during the day to waste time watching another out-of-control, violent liar at night. But when she heard him rant about Kerry quoting him on "not caring" about Usama bin Laden, she really cracked up laughing. When she watched my copy of F 9-11, that was one of the segments that stuck out to her as a clear indicator of the fellow's pathology. Then, he believes if he says it with an aggressive contempt, that people will believe him and doubt Kerry.

In the attempt to get women to support Kerry-Edwards on election day, I suspect this could be very helpful indeed.

39. DNC needs to run this ad A MILLION TIMES
between now and Nov. 2. Over and over and over and over again.

The only thing Bush now has going for him (other than in Freeperville and with the snake-handlers) is the idea that he's a "strong leader" in the war on terror. Crack that thin facade and he's done, at least with moderates, centrists, and undecideds. And this could be the way to destroy his one remaining supposed strength.

47. If the debate agreement says no "clips may be used" from the
debate, I'm sure they're talking about video. All the announcer has to do is announce what Bush said on the commercial. Such as "and here's what President Bush said during Oct 13 debate......"

Surely they can't prevent commenting on anything that was said in the debate. That would be preposterous. And this would accomplish the same thing. As long as it's said in the commercial, it's just as damaging as Bush saying it. Because he said it. No way out of it.
