"I believe that the freedom there(Afghanistan)is a gift from the Almighty"
Anyone else creeped out by this and some other similar comments evoking "the almighty" from Bush? I was....also on the "Armies of Compassion"....I immediately had these visions of the Crusaders pop into mind....the idea of Bush thinking he can spread "Freedom" and "Democracy" like butter on bread or spoon feed it somehow to everyone - shoving it down peoples throuts is more like it, and I don't think you can spread democracy and freedom that way....

But if he really believes that the Taliban is gone from Afghanistan or that they have democracy (and freedom for the women) then he is seriously delusional....

when they get their asses handed to them in a couple of weeks. I can't wait.

4. They are going to lose badly....its becoming painfully (to them) obvious
But didn't you think too that comments like that are creepy? I just don't like the idea that we have a leader that thinks that the Almighty is following his "work"....and his ideas of spreading democracy are flawed....

2. I was more creeped by the thought he could feel American's Prayers.

Weird, sorta pictured him opening up his shirt.....as these beams of lights shot into his chest.

5. Oh yeah, forgot that one....as if they are praying to him and he feels the
power they give him....yikes, he is scary....I guess the fundies and their prayer circles were all in a "Praise the Lord" tizzy with those comments....

Definitely red meat for the Bible crowd....

3. God was never much of a fan of Democracy...
He was more of a Kings fan.

9. This statement of his was very offensive
Just whose god anyway? The "christian" god or the "Islamic" god or some other god?

Any more evidence that the guy is a nut case? I wonder if that was a statement of his own invention or were those words being fed to him -- for his right wing fundy base???

10. You're right, he was bizarre.
He was in such a strange zone, mentally, like headed for a psychotic break. Was acting far more like a fundamentalist tv preacher. Whooooooooo! Simply not sensible, actually, to rely on cheap sentiment, emotionalism, and gibberish!

12. Terrible. He tried to tone down the preaching
compared to what he really believes. I'm not sure he'll alienate too many people with the way he played it. Too bad Kerry felt the need to seem "strong on religion." Why is this country so stupid?

13. Don't forget, Bush says "FREEDOM IS ON THE MARCH."
What the bleep does THAT mean? What freedom? Where? Under the rubble of a devastated Iraq?

Does he really think anyone knows what the heck he means?
