So Bush told JK that he wanted to speak with him after the debate? (KOS)
From Kos:

This is exactly what the Kerry blog entry said:

"anyway, I am new tonight... as you may not have seen me before in here.. just a FYI that I am deaf here and can read lips okay..

at the end of debate where Kerry and Bush shook hands.. Bush was asking Kerry, Can I talk to you later tonight? Kerry said sure then Bush said where would you be? I missed what Kerry said.

I wondered what Bush wanted to talk to Kerry about??

... not good. Not. Good. At all.
I watched them talk after, and it seemed like Kerry was surprised... something was off. I was wondering what was said...

When the president asks to talk to you, you don't not meet with him...

Whatever Bush says, whatever it sounds like, I wouldn't trust it worth a damn.

But Kerry's a senator... he knows the game."

If I had to guess, I would say that something is up with Bush's health. With all of the comments on how Bush's face is drooping on one side, and the lack of a physical until after the election, you really have to wonder what is going on.

20. That could be the source of the "shmrown" ...

Bush was sporting a half-smile, half-smirk all night. I only caught the shot from the LEFT side.

The lack of muscle control on the left side of his face could explain this expression. The prescence of a neuro-stimulator on his back could explain his "hunched-up" posture as well as his leaning over the podium for the entire first debate.

For all we know, Bush could have fractured a vertabrae on his last "mountain bike accident". The man is a serious clutz!!!!!

50. The face drooping could be botox -I noticed it too
It would be ironic after they claimed Kerry had botox treatments...but botox can cause minor temporary paralysis.

I knew someone that had it and they had a similar thing happen.

Did someone mention that bush was drooling, spitting or frothing at the mouth? (or was it a joke? lol)

That can also happen with botox because you can't feel what your mouth is doing.

5. You know, OF COURSE it's a back brace. He has to wear it because he...
...couldn't stand up straight in the first debate.

That wasn't an affect. It was health-related.

I wonder what his problem is.

It's obviously physical and mental.

I forget the name of the book, but it's a bunch of political short stories, and it is the first in the book. Also the best, I didn't really like the rest of them. It really shows Bush as just a little kid. A bit too de-criminifying maybe, but still accurate.

And besides, Cheney is pretty unpopular and the Evangilists would NEVER support him due to his gay daughter and lezbo porn writing wife!!!

My guess is that he chastised Kerry for bringing up inconvenient facts. Or he delivered a personal ultimatum not to pursue certain campaign avenues unless he wanted the swifties to go into overtime.

Whatever it was, I bet it was unpleasent.

A guy I work with has it.

Don't remember the name...but it affects the nerves in one side of the face, with no other ill effects.

I'm not saying Bush has it, just that a stroke isn't the only cause of slackness on one side of the face.

Bush's Erratic Behavior Worries White House Aides
By DOUG THOMPSON
Publisher, Capitol Hill Blue
Jun 4, 2004, 06:15

President George W. Bush’s increasingly erratic behavior and wide mood swings has the halls of the West Wing buzzing lately as aides privately express growing concern over their leader’s state of mind.

In meetings with top aides and administration officials, the President goes from quoting the Bible in one breath to obscene tantrums against the media, Democrats and others that he classifies as “enemies of the state.”

Worried White House aides paint a portrait of a man on the edge, increasingly wary of those who disagree with him and paranoid of a public that no longer trusts his policies in Iraq or at home.

The President's abrupt dismissal of CIA Directory George Tenet Wednesday night is, aides say, an example of how he works.

"Tenet wanted to quit last year but the President got his back up and wouldn't hear of it," says an aide. "That would have been the opportune time to make a change, not in the middle of an election campaign but when the director challenged the President during the meeting Wednesday, the President cut him off by saying 'that's it George. I cannot abide disloyalty. I want your resignation and I want it now."

They shook hands and then Bush lingered and said something. I wondered at the time what it might be.

I don't have the video so I don't know if they were in a position in which one could read lips. I did find it interesting though. It certainly seemed like a longer statement than the usual after debate platitudes.

Maybe he said, "Did I really say that about bin Laden?"

32. It was JUST after Kerry put his hand on Bushes back.
I watched during the opening and closing handshakes. Unlike in the previous debates, Kerry did not pull Bush in an put a hand on his back in the opening handshake. Kerry's hand stayed down at his side, almost awkwardly, as his entire stance was set for at least an elbow grab type handshake.

It was the same for most of the closing hand shake as well. But right at the end, Kerry pulls a little and either puts his hand on Bushes elbow or maybe his back.

Bush IMMEDIATELY reacted, pulling Kerry around in front of himself, putting Kerry inbetween Bush and the crowd, looked at Kerry in the face and said something very intently. I couldn't tell what was being said, though.

He wants to know where Kerry will be so he can call and concede.

In 92 Bush Sr. knew Clinton was going to win 2-3 weeks before the election and apparently there was some informal groundwork layed for the transition at that time. Bush knows he is going down.

61. No he isn't up 56 EVs
Just because a site like electoral-vote.com shows that doesn't mean anything. They just take the latest public poll and whoever is up they give the EVs to, it doesn't take into account any trends or any detailed analysis.

Sure my post is wishful thinking about preparing for a transition, but it is much closer than 56EVs right now.

I'd love to see either campaign's internal polling... the higher the turnout the bigger Kerry's win is going to be.

66. Most logical. Bush is a bad President, but he has too much ambition
to concede or confide anything to his opponent. He is a slimy little thing. Don't pity him. If it were me who had the problem he wouldn't lose a seconds sleep.Think how he can destroy and yet claim to have found Jesus. If Jesus does speak to him it is to say. Change your ways, help the less fortunate, and make Peace. It's not Jesus he's talking to.His conversation with Kerry is most likely just I'll talk to you after the election. We'll get in touch. Kerry was so warm to Bush at the end Bush felt compelled to act like he cared to meet with John. My take.

informs Kerry that we are going to nuke Iran. Kerry is/was on the intelligence committee, I think (correct me if wrong on that). It could be that all the other committee members were notified but Kerry was "out of pocket' due to debate preps.

OR

*smoke-filled room, low light*
Bush: come on in, my oppon...er. Senator....
Kerry: what is all this about?
Rove: heheh...what's it all about? let me tell you...
Kerry: why is Karl here? I thought you wanted to talk to me alone
Rove: Why are you talking to the animatronic mannequin? I'm over here.
Kerry: whu-what?
Rove: Let's just say that we are not pleased, not pleased at all with the way your campaign is going...You have very nice daughters, Senator...I would HATE for anything unfortunate to (snaps pencil in half) HAPPEN to them...if you catch my drift.
Kerry: You can't threaten me like this...
Rove: (peels off rubber mask, revealing alien serpent head) RESISTANCE IS FUTILE...ALL YOUR BASES ARE BELONG TO US.....
Kerry: AIEEEEEE!
Rove shoots a bizarre weapon at Kerry as he flees. a rectangular device clamps onto Kerry's back. Suddenly, Kerry stops, turns around...
Kerry: What is it you desire....master?
Rove: (wrings hands) I need you to withdraw from the race....
Kerry: but that's...that's.....uhnnnnh....."nukular".....Misunderestimate....Al Keeeedaaaa...Saddam......WMDS.....( a small piece of spittle appears on the corner of Kerry's mouth).

wriggling out of the rest of the human suit, Rove leaps on Kerry, sticks a straw in his ear, and starts slurping out his brain....

Rove: you see, (points to Bush gibbering on the floor), This ones' about run out. I need MORE HUMAN BRAINS.....muwahhahahahhhhaaaaa
