Kerry-Edwards BEATING THE HELL out of critics on Mary Cheney issue!
Just saw DICK step in it further. Decided he was ashamed of his daughter. CNN pointed out he's brought up her lesbianism before on the campaign trail and THANKED Edwards for bringing it up.

Then CNN quoted Edwards' wife saying how wrong it is that Lynn Cheney is ashamed of her own daughter

3. It's time (long overdue, actually) for Mary Cheney to speak up
She needs to reset this conversation to restore any shred of dignity she may have or hope to have in the future.

15. She is actually the one person I do feel a little sorry for

but then, she makes a six figure salary working on her Dad's campaign, so it has been said. So, that sort of takes away a little of the compassion. In other words, if she is to be perceived as a victim, she certainly is not a victim of poverty thanks to her old man, and surely is lined up to receive a very substantial inheritance once the old man croaks.

After it is over, she will go her way with her millions of dollars and will have a very cushy life, that is for sure.

She may or may not have a thing to say about gay rights.

5. The best strategy was the simplest:
Kerry and Edwards did the best possible thing by just confronting Bush and Cheney directly with this issue. The GOP loves to have this issue both ways, pandering to the religeous right with code-words. Kerry and Edwards called them out on it, big time.

The same for Roe vs Wade last night. Kerry didn't let Dubya off the hook, and I think mainstream America got a good hard look at what this guy really stands for. Better yet, Bush blew it with his base, since he tried to waffle on his "litmus test".

9. Your quote is wrong
"...since he tried to waffle on his 'litmus test'"

You forget, it's not "waffle" anymore, it's "flip-flop". My guess is, they changed it 'cause the Chimp-in-Chief kept asking why the hell they were talking about breakfast all the time.

13. It's funny, I have a pair of flip flops on the floor of my car
and every time I look at them I think of Bush. Gotta get them out of there.

16. Cheneys had no problem trotting out Mary when it suited their political
interests, i.e., to help convince moderate voters that Bush/Cheney aren't mean old homophobes.

So they need to just shut up.

18. Doesn't Mary Cheney work for the Bush Cheney 2004 campaign?
And before that didn't she work for the White House? And before that didn't she work for the Bush Cheney 2000 campaign? And before that didn't she work for Coors in a gay/lesbian liason position? And in 2002 didn't she serve on the advisory board of "the Republican Unity Coalition, a gay-straight alliance formed within the Republican party to help increase tolerance within the party for gays and lesbians, and others"?

Mentioning her sexual orientation is not talking about her private life, it is talking about her professional life.

19. That is the point that should be hammered home by
Donna Brazile,
Terry McCauliffe,
and every other spokesperson for the DNC etc.

Hilary took shit for 8+ years folks---

Why--because she dared become a public figure

Well, guess what? Mary has chosen to be a public figure.

At least Kerry-Edwards and the rest haven't attacked her. They just mentioned her name....
