My earnest proposal...
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 01:08 PM by Sick_of_Rethuggery
How about we abandon all Bush bashing (fun and deserved as it is) and concentrate on ways to get Kerry elected?

We should just emulate Kerry in this matter -- he treats them (Bush and the Rethugs) just as so much nuisance that he needs to swat down when they get too much in his way but keeps his eye on the real ball, the business of getting about governing...

Bush-bashing is easiest to do -- he gives us reasons and more -- but it is also least productive and most soul-sapping. How about we all agree that he is bad -- to say the least -- should never have even come within a country mile of the WH and move on to more productive and positive topics for the next 3 weeks? (Such as how Kerry/Edwards are winning over huge crowds, what we each are doing to get Democrats elected etc)

I dont mean to offend or curb anyone's enthusiasm or sound holier-than-thou (I am as horrified by the shrub and his antics and have said so on many occasions), but time is short and we need to get focused, as Walt Starr told us in a very shocking fashion :-) Here is that thread:

2. How about getting George Bush into an addiction/alcoholic rehabilitation
...facility ASAP before he destroys this country or worse?

10. Because...
at this point, Bush is a distraction and Kerry is the focus...

6. True.
Mea Culpa (it is just that the rethugs can sap our very souls and I am not so sure in this instance it is only a question of multi-tasking...)

8. Yes, we can do both. Bashing is important to rouse the base. It's
something we all have in common, and it lets off steam. WE'RE UPSET!

At least we don't stoop to the level of the freepers...their site is PRIMARILY Kerry-bashing, and much more hateful and lewd than ours. We discuss issues and such primarily, have arguments among ourselves on the issues or whatever, and then do SOME *-bashing, but it's not too bad.

5. No, I come here to let off steam and post what I really think about *
It helps me when I phone bank or register voters. I'm able to discuss why Kerry is better for the country without losing my temper. What we post here is not what most of us say to undecided voters. I see no reason to modify what we post here or how it could possibly offend you. I'm focused on the election and I hate *.

7. I hate him too...
In fact, I have never had more than a cursory interest in politics before he got nominated in 2000 -- that was the galvanizing event for me, not anything he did after that.

But I think your point is very valid about blowing off steam here and getting back to business outside...

12. This is the only place...........
I have to vent. That people understand my frustration. Posts that are not to my liking I simply don't read or don't respond to them. Please don't take that away from me.
