Photo from the end of last night's debate: not a "Viva Bush" moment

I'd call it more of a "haunted" or "empty" look on his face. I expect to see a similar photo on Nov. 2nd...right before he phones President Kerry to congratulate him for winning.

And no, I'm not getting cocky or arrogant...Now that the debates are over, the REAL "home stretch" work begins...but you've got to admit, you see a photo like this and you've got to wonder "what was going through his mind at this moment?"

Fox's caption: "Oct. 13.: President Bush embraces his wife, first lady Laura Bush, far left, and daughters Jenna, right, and Barbara."

He called them "girls". Kerry referred to his wife and daughters as people. What a jerk * is.

Bush looked liked he had barely survived a terrible ordeal-needs a rest
He looked totally drained like he was about ready to collapse when the girls hugged him. He needs to be retired ASAP.

10. Why isn't AWoL smiling? Is the group hug celebratory or in condolences?
they do NOT look like a happy bunch..

Honestly, I think that family is tired of playing the game. The whole thing is a big charade and they know it. The girls especially, probably want to go home and back to their (semi)-normal lives.

24. I posted this pre-debate quote from Laura Bush on DU yesterday:
Laura Bush: 'Life Doesn't End'

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,135250,00.html

So how does Laura Bush think the presidency has changed her husband?"George is a certainly grayer," the first lady told FOX News' Jim Angle, before quickly adding, "I think he still looks young."

Laura Bush talked about the difficulties of being first lady during such a critical time in the nation's history. "It's very difficult to serve as president of the United States, it's difficult on the family, you give up your anonymity and that's the one thing you lose. But it still is also a huge privilege to serve our country."

Mrs. Bush said she certainly hoped her husband wins a second term on Nov. 2, but she did "entertain" the idea that Sen. John Kerry could come out ahead.

"I hope he wins, because he makes the best president and he is the best president, but at the same time, if he doesn't, he doesn't. We just go on," she said. "Life doesn't end."

11. Let's hope he does make that call, before Dick Cheney walks into...
...the Bush suite with the military generals and police to take over the government and declare martial law. These are desperate people, folks who will stop at nothing to keep power.

12. that's almost (I say ALMOST) sad...
and interesting, because this morning I was talking to a friend, who is so furious with bush that he couldn't even bring himself to watch the first debate - he listened on the radio, but he said that he just couldn't stand to look at the guy.

Well, for last night's debate, he was so sickened by bush's voice that he turned the sound off the tv and just WATCHED the debate. He said that he was shocked at how defeated and resigned bush's eyes appeared to be throughout the entire 90 minutes. Now my friend said that he KNOWS he's watching from a biased perspective, but I find it interesting that you posted THAT photo with THAT commentary of your own. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............

be educated. They are supporting a system that keeps them oppressed, how very sad, voluntary slavery.

19. I think he may finally have realized he may be unemployed in a month!!!

I really thought Bush looked and sounded desperate last night! Like a man who is fighting for his life, or who knows there is a strong possibility that he is going to be fired. I think Bush may have finally had a spark of introspection flash through his cocaine and alcohol-addled synapses and it may be that he sees that he has been a complete failure.

The dipshit was on the verge of tears. If he wasn't a shameless mass murderer, I could almost feel sorry for him.
