Kerry and The CBC
First - please don't flame. I think I've earned the right to ask a touchy question. Also, forgive me if this has been houded to death and I've missed it, ok? Im 100% imperfect.

OK.

With the talk of Bush's meeting (or lack thereof) the CBC at the Whitehouse, it brought to my mind the moment in F/911 where Moore relates how no Democratic Senators stood up for the CBC.

No Senators? Where was Senator Kerry? Where was Senator Edwards?

Don't get me wrong. I'm behind these guys 451% I'm just wondering what happened?

2. I dunno...
I was really angry at the Democrats for not standing up to Bush in the beginning of the Iraq debacle. That's why I liked Dean in the primaries. I suppose, though, that many thought dissent was not healthy in the aftermath of the 9/11 attack. I didn't...I wanted Bush to be impeached from day 1. I guess nobody's perfect.

3. Let's Ask AFTER The Election
Yes, I'd like to know to, but not right now. Priorities...and then depending on the mood of the country, we need to get answers to what caused this country to get so fugged up over the past 4 years.

4. I figure it was probably because Al Gore asked the senators not to go down
that road. I like Michael Moore's overall message, but he does tend to warp and exaggerate things to make a point.

5. I think this is the reason
I'm not positive and if I'm wrong I apologize.

Isn't it something like if a senator had gone along with CBC the the vote would have gone to the Senate where there was a 50/50 split between Democrats and Republicans and in the case of a tie the President of the Senate decides a vote. The President of the Senate is the Vice President. There for Gore would have been in the position to elect himself.

8. That's exactly it
Lieberman could have come forward as a senator and signed off... then Gore could have broken the tie, effectively naming himself President. Gore asked the senators not to sign on... he did not want to further divide the nation.

6. Gore conceded
The election was over and he wanted it to be over. That's all.

7. That's correct. Gore conceded and felt it was best to move forward.
Moore, as an artist and a social commentator, used the footage to make a separate point, which is that the African American community was forgotten in the turmoil of the 2000 vote count.

Following this point, it is perfectly fair to note that the Democrats have an imperfect record in protecting African American rights. However, it is also true that the Republicans record is far worse. Worst of all is W, who, as Kerry pointed out, has refused to meet with the NAACP, unprecedented among American presidents since WWII or before.
