80 yr olds working their butts off for Kerry/Edwards
:dem:
Just talked to an elderly woman ('my husband and I are in our eighties') who said she won't volunteer for canvassing but that she and her husband are working for ACT and MoveOn Pac doing phone banking and office work.

She said they work as much as possible and donate every single dollar they can to put Kerry in the White House. They live in a swing state.

Please - let's get our butts in gear, work them off and donate our time and money now!!!

2. My Dem Pres is 82
She says when Bush is out, she can die in peace! Let's work double-time to honor all these wonderful seniors who care so much about this country.

4. Hmmmmmmmm,
that wasn't MY swing-state, was it? :D

The first people we Clarkies approached after Clark withdrew from the race were two Kerry supporters - a couple in their eighties. They had been busting their little butts (I say little because they walk all the time and they have tiny little butts!) for Kerry since day ONE. We went and asked what we could do to help get John Kerry elected, and they were the most warm and welcoming people you could ever imagine. That meeting evolved into the Democratic Unity Group that included supporters from five different campaigns.

These people continue to work for the campaign, they do tabling, they make calls, they give money, and they can speak with such experience behind their words... and if I am ever feeling insecure or discouraged, I know that I can call this guy whose first presidential vote was for FDR - he's always reassuring that John Kerry will be in the White House in just a few months!

They are quite an inspiration to me! :loveya: (and if you're hanging around, zulch, you know just who I'm talking about!)
