I was amused to see the pretended outrage of the Cheneys and the Repugs over Kerry's quite innocuous remark.

Mary Cheney is Cheney's campaign manager. As such she is a highly public figure. It is not irrelevant that as a gay person she is seeking to advance the cause of the most homopbobic administration in the past half century. She deserves every lick she gets.

I recalled a genuinely, intentionally homophobic remark targeted directly at Mary by Alan Keyes only a several days ago on national tv. He couldn't have been more insulting to her because of her lesbianism. Not a peep out of the Cheneys. Hypocrisy? I think so.

Talking of which, I've seen it posted that La C. did gay "outreach" work for various unsavoury corporations; is the fact that great chunks of her public/political career have been based on her lesbianism getting out in the media at all?
