What happened to that ridiculous special olympics "scandal"
Remember a day or two ago, Drudge posted a highly offensive poster of Bush as a participant in Special Olympics? I noticed that Drudge took it down, and can't seem to find it anywhere else, except on a blog or two where freepers keep mentioning it. Has it been debunked?

1. What was to be debunked?
It was idiotic and insensitive.

2. Just found this response from the Dems on a blog
Tennessee Democratic Party Chairman Randy Button released the following statement today regarding the Team GOP news release accusing Tennessee Democrats of distributing a flyer denigrating handicapped children and the Special Olypmics:
"This disgusting flyer is a dirty trick by Republicans to try and smear Craig Fitzhugh and the Democratic Party in Tennessee. We are shocked and appalled that they would stoop to this level to try and score political points. Craig Fitzhugh is one of the most honorable, upright men in the Tennessee Legislature, and everyone who knows him knows that he is a champion of children and those with disabilities.

"I am calling on Republican Party Chairwoman Beth Harwell, Craig Fitzhugh’s colleague in the House of Representatives, to put an end to this. We may not agree on politics, but Beth and I can both agree to the character and principles of Craig Fitzhugh. This is the work of shady Republican operatives, and is reminiscent of the Nixon-era Watergate burglaries. This is just the latest in a long history of dirty politics on the part of Republicans.

"Craig Fitzhugh has called on the District Attorney to investigate the source of this disgusting flyer. We have every intention of getting to the bottom of this disturbing incident."

3. I wrote about that poster on my blog.
Please read it (link is below the burning bush) and tell me what you think.

4. Not sure

Liked what you said about Mary Cheney, and I agree with you about Bush's intellect, but I would call him intellectually lazy rather than wilfully retarded. As far as the special olympics poster goes, no matter how you cut it, it's offensive. Maybe some people would find it funny in a sophomoric way. (Also loved the scrivener joke, which I heard a long time ago, but forgot about.)

5. Thanks!
I had to write something about that offensive poster, but I didn't want to ignore George W.'s slacker mind. He just impresses me as a willful toddler who knows he can get away with not learning anything useful.

Thanks again for the feedback!
