"I think George Bush is going to win in a walk"
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 05:14 PM by zaj
"I think George Bush is going to win in a walk. I really believe I'm hearing from the Lord it's going to be like a blowout election in 2004. The Lord has just blessed him.... It doesn't make any difference what he does, good or bad."
- Pat Robertson, AP/Fox News, January 2, 2004

Such a creepy quote...

5. It's okay with me if his listeners think that...
then they will stay home on November second to show their faith in the Lord's blessing. To go vote yourself in the face of that is clearly showing a lack of faith in Pat's prescience.

6. The world truly has a high regard for you, Pat Robertson,
as you single out, yet, more groups of people to bash and blame and hate. After all, you've got to demonize others in order to make your money, correct?

Falwell: "I really believe that the pagans and
the abortionists and the feminists and the gays
and the lesbians . . . ACLU (and the) People for
the American Way, all of them who try to secularize
the America -- I point the finger in their face and
say 'you helped this (9-11-01) happen.' "

Robertson: "I totally concur. . . . We have adopted that
agenda at the highest levels of our government . . .
and the top people is, of course, the court system ."

7. Robertson's lunacy
What's hilarious is that he said this when it was assumed that Howard Dean would be the nominee. A month later, it was clear that JK was the nominee, and old Fathead Robertson was feeling less sanguine. I'm paraphrasing now, but after JK became the nominee, he said something to the effect of, "Well, John Kerry's a formidable candidate ... if Bush loses, it's possible I may have misinterpreted God's statement to me." Anyone who didn't understand at that point what a full of shit, snake-oil salesman Robertson is, must be severely impaired mentally. Actually, that statement applies if you didn't know that the first time you laid eyes on the sleazy blowhard.

8. Hi Pat (and also Jerry)
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 05:33 PM by Maestro
Why is it that so many prominent "leaders" in the church community hijack religion to push their own agenda? You people disgust me and I am sure Jesus does too. Go to hell! Have you ever spoken to Desmond Tutu? Now there is a thoughful, compassionate religious man. You and buddy Jerry are roaches that need to be exterminated.

These people have shown themselves to snake oil salesman. If you think they are better than that then visit www.raptureready.com.

What would do with them? They are scum who live off gullible people who wish their lives to be better so they put their faith in God, but these people are far from representing God. They are using religion to make gads of money and push their agenda politically. I am not as bad as them, I am much better. I have dedicated my life to helping people and do not take kindly to people brainwashing others with promises that they never intend on keeping, but by using God and His teaching the believers keep forking over everything to idiots. So yes, they need to be exterminated. You have anything else to add? Anything better or do you approve of how they have manipulated Christianity to fit their own twisted reality. They are no better than the muslim extremists. They don't represent Islam and neither do Jerry and Pat represent Christian teachings. You friends with Ralph Reed? I noticed the Star of David. Are you Jewish?

9. Doh!
Robertson is a greedy, seedy little gremlin who wears only the finest sheep's clothing to cover his Dorian-portrait hide.

However, I love how his inside line to a Higher Power turns out to be poor logic and bad strategy in relation to inspiring his mesmerized zombie congregation to get up, out, and vote. He tends to be unable to bridle his threatening demeanor and that tends to work against his political ambitions.

I am very glad he made a statement like that. I hope he makes more to that effect. If God is going to miraculously determine the winner, then simply having faith and praying is just as functional as voting. One could argue, using dogmatic anti-logic, that voting demonstrates a lack of faith.

Let the Lord, (or Diebold) put a pox upon the voting machines and negate the vote of evil Democrats. Stay home and worship at the holy altar of TV preaching while you Pay the Lord! A Bush win is in the bag, because the Big Guy said so.

I mean, if you can believe that faith without works is spirtually valid, or that "by their works ye shall know them" has been overturned by Judge Robertson, then may I sell you a holy hand grenade?
