I think we can all agree that Bush probably helped his cause in 2000 during the debates. While I fully believe Gore won on the issues, his sigh, the rolling of the eyes and the charging of Bush really did him in. Isn't it ironic, in a sense, that in 2000 those things helped Bush win, yet in 2004 they were his downfall?

Anyone that says the debates don't matter needs to re-check this election. If Bush does lose come November, he has the debates to thank for it. Just like I fully believe Gore "lost" in 2000 because of his dropping the ball in the 2000 debates.

1. Yes, it's almost surreal how bush
has been Gored in the debates by self-infliction!

And it will definetly be the debates that help bring down bushinc..because Kerry wasn't able to get any media traction without them..no wonder Kerry wanted 3 of them.:)

2. One thing about Shrub...
He performace in 2000 was way better. I saw a replay where he puts down McCain when he criticized Shrub about voting on veterans benefits. It was like a scene from Godfather like Al Pacino. "Don't question my loyalty" type of comment.....

He doesn't seem to have the same "gusto" this time around.......

3. Well he didn't have a record to defend.
Kerry called him on his record, he couldn't defend it. Instead he tried turning the tables and making it an issue of Kerry's senate record. It didn't work. It doesn't help that every night 4 more American troops die in Iraq. :(
