NC DU'ers: What's the State of the Bowles-Burr Senate Race?
Recent stories have said that after a big tobacco buyout by the GOP Congress and a massive ad-wave by Burr tying Bowles to NAFTA and Clinton, the race is a dead heat. Others are saying that Burr has the momentum. What's your opinion? Can Bowles still win?

2. Burr has the momentum
The race is virtually tied, but Burr has been outspending Bowles like crazy over the last couple of weeks in ad buys. Gen. Hugh Shelton just cut a VERY effective ad for Bowles though, and I'm hoping it resonates throughout the state. Unfortunately, I'm not sure the Clinton noose will ever be removed from Bowles. Sad but true.
