Yes another Mary Cheney thread (this one sheds some light)
"Mary has never declared such a thing,"Mrs. Cheney replied. "I—I would like to say that I’m appalled at the media interest in one of my daughters. I have two wonderful daughters. I love them very much. They are bright, they are hard working, they are decent. And I simply am not going to talk about their personal lives. And I’m surprised, Cokie, that even you would want to bring it up on this program."

She is clearly not happy about her daughters sexuality.

3. First of all, Lynne Cheney needs to shut the hell up
For her to go on and talk about Kerry's mention of Mary being a cheap and dirty political trick was just unbe-frickin-lievable. You know what a cheap and dirty political trick is? Talking about how much you love your lesbian daughter while working your damnedest to screw over her and other lesbian and gay sons and daughters. She's nothing but a vicious hypocrite.

5. Doesn't Mary Cheney work for the Bush Cheney 2004 campaign?
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 06:49 PM by snippy
And before that didn't she work for the White House? And before that didn't she work for the Bush Cheney 2000 campaign? And before that didn't she work for Coors in a gay/lesbian liason position? And in 2002 didn't she serve on the advisory board of "the Republican Unity Coalition, a gay-straight alliance formed within the Republican party to help increase tolerance within the party for gays and lesbians, and others"?

http://www.gaylesbiantimes.com/?id=2431&issue=851

Mentioning her sexual orientation is not talking about her private life, it is talking about her professional life.

7. You're right!!! Mary Cheney is a professional lesbian. She's certainly..
...made bucks doing it. The lezzie thing has been her paycheck for several years now.

I pretty much think you have to be an out lesbian to be the official GAY liaison to coors brewing.

6. Learn from the master!!!
Do what Kerry did. When he was attacked, he didn't play defense. He went on the offense:

Being lectured by Bush* about lesbians is like being lectured by Tony Soprano about law and order

IMO, the best strategy is to respond to questions about how Kerry hurt the Cheney family's feelings is to ask "How many of the 9/11 victims families are hurt by the fact that bush* doesn't care about bringing OBL to justice?"

That would give the media something else to talk about beside lesbians, and whether Kerry was right or wrong. If that were our response, they'd have to report it. Instead of playing defense, we'd be on the offense, and after all, that's how you win.

10. the Cheney's are hypocrites, all of them
Does anyone think they would have the least bit of compassion for any minority, if their own flesh and blood was not a member.

They all suck, including Mary.

Her sexual preference was just fine to be on public display when it suited their interest in the 2000 election.

She was speaking about "Compassionate Conservatives" and used her life as an example of a new administration that would be tolerant of others, and sensitive. Some folks bought that bull shit. In fact the Log Cabin republicans bought it hook, line and sinker.

After four years of their lies and deceit, Mary has become a liability, hurting their base, and reminding those who were fooled in 2000 what a pack of lying hypocrites the bunch of them are.

Too f**king bad for all the Cheney's, including that Judas goat, Mary, you can all go f**k yourselves, you hypocrite bastards.

11. Why are the Cheney's so ashamed of their daughter, Mary?
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 07:03 PM by in_cog_ni_to
They were so ashamed of her, she wasn't on stage at the with them at the RNC. Their ENTIRE family, MINUS Mary, were on that stage. SHAMEFUL! What are they so ashamed of. THAT'S the problem. They are ashamed of her and have been trying to "hide" her. End of subject. Lynn Cheney can go fuck herself. She needs to treat her daughter like she's part of the family and just shut the hell up. She's an "Indignant mother?" Yeah, riiiiiiight. Sure Lynn, WHATEVER! Try ACTING like a mother you damn wench!! :grr:

13. "Hiding in Plain Sight"

The details of Mary Cheney’s life, as sketchy as they are, are part of the public record: Cheney, 31, worked at Coors until May, when she quit to pursue an MBA. She and her partner, Heather Poe, live in the Denver suburbs, in a house they own together. Jim McNulty, who cofounded Aspen Gay and Lesbian Community Fund in Aspen, Colo., recalls that Cheney introduced Poe as her “life partner” and that Cheney was “quite” out about her sexuality and her relationship. “During the course of they kissed and hugged in public,” he says. “Which is as it should be.”

15. No one attacked Mary
She is a paid member of the Bush/Cheney campaign. She is openly gay. Her father talks about it during his stump speeches. All Kerry did, was answer a very stupid question about whether or not people chose to be gay or if they are born that way. If you listen to his response, he was very respectful of Mary and her sexuality.

Gay is not a disease, a curse or an affliction.

and when the candidate is on the ticket that tried to amend the constitution to LIMIT that candidate's kid's rights, that is relevant.

18. If Kerry wanted to pass an amendment restricting the rights of the obese...
...then the weight of his running mate's wife would be a legitimate issue.
