4. Oh, but if you say that, you don't support the troops
Just put a yellow ribbon bumper sticker on your suv and go on your merry little delusional way. But don't talk about the troops safety or loss of life or limb or standard of living - cuz that's anti-military and unpatriotic and certainly unChristain too.

What a mind-fuck these rw kooks have put this nation in.

8. As the wife of a veteran I can tell you
it IS this bad. Fortunately my husband didn't deal with it this badly, but HELL they didn't even give that guy his Purple Heart?????

Those who GIVE the most should be TREATED THE BEST.

This is shameful and horrifying. Keep this thread kicked and watch this guys. THIS is how the government supports the troops. They talk out one side of their mouth and out the other side, they don't give a shit about them. Use them up, spit them out.

10. I couldn't get them
to send me the things needed when my father died (concerning his grave marker) after filling out the forms. I got the flag from the funeral director, but that was it.

12. Very different in one Air Force case
One of our Af trans troops was crushed in a vehicle accident in Iraq. They were able to save his legs, but he is in ICU in Tx. His wife is there with him, staying in a house set aside for family visitors. She is also getting a daily allowance for meals and other expenses. This is the only injury we have had from here so far. His chain of command and the base commander made sure he got taken care of. I don't know why they don't do this for the Army.

17. Are these Guard members?
As a military brat, we were always "part of the family." Commanding Officers knew how to take care of their troops. But I remember the commotion after Gulf 1, and disabled Vets from the Guard being called names like slacker.

I don't have ABC, please keep this thread up.

9. You can bet
where there are four stories like this, there are four hundred more, unfortunately.

I've volunteered in VA hospitals and it's shameful. They get the WORST care and no one seems to give a damn.

Kerry has proposed the Military Families Bill of Rights and every military family I know who knows about it LOVES it.

13. 400 isn't even close. We are talking lots and lots,
close to 17-20,000 injured, or more? Don't know the exact numbers, and that needs to be defined and talked about. OUR SOLDIERS ARE DYING AND SUFFERING!

14. ah... but see you would have to have served in the military
to even conceive of these fundamental rights for veterans. that means seeing them as humans. and honoring them with dignity and benefits and a living wage and all the rest....

thats why john kerry would feel this way, and why bush and everyone else in his administration just wouldnt
