The beauty of tonight's show was it's very straightforward presentation of the accounts of Vietnamese villagers who were eye witnesses to this event, and who have no logical reason to lie to support either candidate in a presidential election thousands of miles away.

William Rood's account is important and powerful; but bringing it into tonight's show could have distracted the focus from the Vietnamese accounts. One of the most lasting impressions people will have from watching tonight (I predict) is O'Neill's racist, demeaning and dismissive attitude towards these villagers who suffered greatly no matter whose version of events you believe.

Remember Nightline is only a 30-minute program, which really means only 22 minutes of actual content. I think Koppel and his producers did a fantastic job of maintaining a clear and compelling focus in this show that absolutely destroyed the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (at least for anyone who bases their decisions on facts and logic).

John o'Neil is a punk who is just like Bush, he got to were he is today because of his parents. Did he deserve to get in to UT? Hell no. How do I know this? Because a real lawyer would have been able to articulate his argument and actually have facts to back it up. Screaming about Vietnamese loving John Kerry and that a book talks about only a single VC just makes you lookk stupid. Also he lied again when he said that Kerry's crew mates back up his sstory.
