Republicans strategist says Bush 'almost flailing'
The Bush campaign is starting to come unglued.

This is an excerpt from a report in Friday's LA Times:

One senior Republican strategist not affiliated with the campaign said he began to think the Bush camp might be nervous when it launched a hard-edged ad that misquoted Kerry as describing terrorism as a “nuisance.”

“I would describe that as almost flailing,” the strategist said. “They went from having a very buttoned-up message where it was very defined, very provable, and it has consistently gotten more high-pitched, more shrill and less documentable. That to me is a very defensive position, as opposed to offensive.”

In addition to the president’s unusual appearance in the media section of Air Force One, senior Bush advisers who customarily do not return phone calls from reporters or make themselves available for interviews are now increasingly available.

In the last two weeks, campaign strategist Karl Rove has been making nearly daily visits to the media filing center during campaign stops, not just to serve up sunny assessments of the race but playing practical jokes on reporters.

2. Its starting...
But remember, a wounded animal is a dangerous animal.

But isn't it fun to start to see them squirm?

I know I'm enjoying it.

Keep up the good work everyone...17 more days to VICTORY

11. HAHA
I'm against animal cruelty, but I can't admit but watching this one suffer.

Let's hope it will soon be put out of it's misery in a little more than two weeks.

6. don't think so
I heard Ed Rollins tonight and he wasn't saying anything along those lines. I think it's David Gergen. Sounds just like him.

on Lou Dobb's show tonight. This doesn't sound like him, imho. But I rarely read him, only see his on-air stuff. I couldn't find this posted on the LAT web site yet, but who cares...I LOVE THE SOUND OF IT! We've worked hard for this!

5. almost?

That campaign has indeed gotten beaten back to its last line of defense. Sure, they can and have to be aggressive- but just look at all the arguments they've touted, poured big money and a lot of air time and effort into, and which are in failure (i.e. they don't work to persuade Undecideds but are bought by the True Believers).

They've only got the Bogeyman Liberal game left now. And dirty tricks to obstruct Democratic voters.

7. The Republicans message was NEVER "very defined, very provable"
It's been a sack of stinking lies from day one and that is becoming increasingly obvious.

8. A "Republican strategist" is worrying about
a "misquote?" That's funny. Republicans eat misquotes for breakfast, sip out-of-context for lunch and really chow down to dinner with the Big Lies.

14. After Nov 2nd...
Karl Rove will get a job as a media spundit?/spindit?

I wonder if Bush/Cheney/Rove are getting desperate? Desperate enough to try Diebolding the election.

Did they actually believe that the majority of the American people would buy into this crap?
