John O'Neil is Kerry's Kenneth Starr
He's like KErry's Kenneth Starr.

Like Starr, O'Neil has been a step behind KErry. Kerry came back, became nationally well known. He was eloquent and kicked his ass on the Dick Cavett Show. He went on to become a successful prosecuter and eventually a senator.

Meanwhile O'Neil came back, was soon forgotten by the public and settled down to a private practice...no notable accomplishments...and just a lot of bitterness and jealousy.

Similar with Starr - he went to GWU while Clinton went to Geoergetown. Then Clinton became a Rhodes Scholar and eventually went to Yale Law School. I have no idea where Starr went to LS, but Yale is ranked by almost all as the number 1 law school. Clinton then became governor and then president. Starr became the special prosecuter and probably felt jealousy for all those years.

Those republicans are pathetic, jealous, vindictive, spiteful bastards.

BTW, do you think if KErry's elected, we've seen the last of O'neil?

1. O'Neill's not Starr
He's just a hate-filled pawn that's being used.

2. At least Starr had one victory
O'Neill can't seem to win at anything. He's like a fat, arrogant Shelley Levine (google it if you haven't seen the movie).

10. Maybe O'Neill will throw himself in the Potomac.
One can hope.

11. Salieri to Kerry's Mozart
"Amadeus" is one of my favorite movies.

4. By gum, you are right!
OMG, what a perfect analogy. John O'Neill would be nothing if it weren't for Kerry. He IS Kerry's Ken Star. His bitch. Forever in his shadow, making a career out of smearing a man destined for greatness. Is there anything in Greek tragedy that is comparable? Oh yes, 'Othello'--Shakespeare had it covered.

6. Actually, the question that should be asked is why we ever saw the first..
...of O'Neill.

Junior said that he met Pickles at a BBQ at the home of Joe O'Neill. John O'Neill's middle name is "Ellis" just like Jeb, and then there's the cousin John Ellis who works for FAUX News. Is John O'Neill Joe's kid? Or brother? And how is Joe O'Neill connected to the Bush family?

Numerous connections have been established between the head Swift Boat Liar and the BCE political machine, but this latest slip from the Chimp convinces me that these ties go deeper than originally suspected.

9. It's possible
but to the NYTimes credit, they had a pretty exhaustive web of connections. I would have imagined if there were more ties, it would have been covered.

That said, the Times have done such a shitty job on so many other things over the last few years, I wouldn't be surprised if they did miss it.

7. O'Neill wasn't "soon forgotten"...
he was LAUGHED and MOCKED and RIDICULED into hiding.

Republicans were a lot smarter back then, and one helluva lot tougher to trick and dupe and con.

8. That might be good new for Kerry..
Kenneth Starr's assault on Clinton helped cause a Democratic sweep in 1998!! My father, a life-long Republican, voted a straight Democratic ticket that year to protest the actions of the Republicans. He has leaned Democratic ever since!
