Daddy Bush & Jim Baker Smell Defeat & Begin to Huddle to Steal Election.
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 12:17 AM by David Zephyr
THE BAKER AND BUSH CABAL DOWN IN TANGLEWOOD & THEIR "ALTERNATE ELECTOR PLAN" TO STEAL THE ELECTION (AGAIN):

(Down in the tony West Houston neighborhood of Tanglewood, Big Daddy George H. Bush and his cohort, Jim Baker, can now smell the defeat that Karl Rove promised them would never come.)

BAKER: George, it doesn't look good. Forget the horse race polls and just look at these two polls: The Economist and the CBS poll on the Administration's job approval numbers. They are at 43%-44% and sinking.

BUSH I: No, and Karl's had his chance now, but it's time to start the ball rolling.

BAKER: It's already in motion, George. The Saudis wired the monies last week. Tom Delay is already contacting his tightest allies in every GOP controlled State Legislature to prepare for initiating our "Alternate Elector Slate" plan.

BUSH I: Yeah, let's let Karl and Dick and George W keep at the campaign and keep them out of this altogether, after all, they might still win. But, are you sure we have everything in place?

BAKER: Absolutely. Jeb's already written his press release which he will issue on November 3-7th which essentially says, "Because of the multiple lawsuits from both sides, Democrats and Republicans, challenging the outcome in the State of Florida, and because the Supreme Court ruled in 2000 that each state must submit a slate of electors in December, I as Governor of Florida have no other choice but then to ask the Florida State Assembly to send to Washington an alternate slate of delegates in order to satisfy the Supreme Court."

BUSH I: It's very, very important that Jeb look like he hates doing this, you know.

BAKER: Oh Jeb will handle this perfectly. And he'll have cover because we will have the very same thing happen in two to three other states. Remember, George, we had the boys in Tallahassee ready to do this in 2000, but Ted Olson already had assurances from Rehnquist that the Court would intervene on our behalf.

BUSH I: The beauty of this is that it is 100% constitutional. That's what the Constitution says. In fact, a plebiscite is not even required and any State Assembly can send its own electors. It's funny how almost no one in America even knows this.

BAKER: Yeah, I just wish that dope fiend friend of Barbara and you, Rush Limbaugh, would quit dropping hints of this in his radio program. You need to call him and tell him to shut the fuck up, George.

BUSH I: Jeb can keep him in line because he has Rush's dope bust jurisdiction, but I think you're right. Rush's drug problem makes him a wild card and he might shoot off his mouth. I'll have Jeb give him a call.

BAKER: I'm to meet with Tom Delay at his Sugarland home next week, I think maybe you ought to be there, too. We can ride out there together.

BUSH I: Maybe, you're right...

BARBARA: Poppy, W is on the phone from Washington. Can you take his call?

BUSH I: Hi, Son. You did just fine in that debate. That debate shit is all over now. Ancient history, son. Now don't worry about anything. You and Laura just get out there on the campaign trail and keep at it until November 2nd. I'm here with Jim Baker right now. We have you covered...

Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 11:50 PM by Zinfandel

These fascist are NOT going to let votes stand in their way...they will steal it, stay in power and sort it out later, month's from now, with a republican congress holding and heading investigations & committees and a republican owned corporate media spinning exactly as the fascist need them to.

5. It's Constitutional.
And they have it all planned, just as they had Florida "planned" two years in advance with "voter/felon purges", butterfly ballots, GOP workers accessing voter data banks. That took a lot of planning and had been in the works for over two years before the public was broadsided.

Last time it was the Supreme Court.

This time, Tom Delay will prove to be the hammer with State Legislatures coughing up "alternate elector slates" to satisfy the Supreme Court's ruling in 2000. A little legal challenge here and another here in tight races where the GOP controls the State Houses and poof: Bush walks back into the White House for four more years...

And it is permitted by the Constitution of the United States.

25. not necessarily...
Yes, the Constitution says the legislature can decide how the electors are selected, but state constitutions or election laws often prevent the legislature from changing the method after the election. I know Florida has that law, because that's what the repugnants were arguing - that changing what did or didn't qualify as a "vote" was "changing the method".

This is why Tom Delay has been so actively meddling with State Legislatures for the last two years.

10. No
They can't be that blatant about it. Alternate slate of electors is about the same as tanks rolling down Pennsylvania Ave. All the pretense of Democracy would be stripped away. I don't think the country would tolerate it...at least I wouldn't.

12. Well, as I have repeatedly said, IF that were to happen, they'd better
come and arrest me NOW - because I will be in the streets screaming and urging us all to RIOT, REVOLT, VIOLENTLY IF NECESSARY, to RESTORE DEMOCRACY!

I will NEVER accept this!

NEVER!

I just wonder if there will be anyone else beside me.

16. Well they have already started
by doing their damnest to purge the rolls in several states!

I think they would be treading in very murky waters if they try this again. I don't know what would happen except a civil war breaking out.

We should start a meme that this is coming. Something like "some people are saying the repubs are going to steal the election", or "we're not worried because we know we are going to win"

That certainly worked for them the last time. After all they had the CIA helping out in the ole sunshine state.

already in the works.

Here's my hope:

In the last weeks we've seen DeLay's top cohorts hit with subpeonas. and there are rumors that there's more to come reaching right to DeLay. He's been censured twice in the House and word out was that one more strike and the "gentleman's agreement" in the House would no longer stand, and he would be "out."

Also, Naomi Klein's article about Baker/Albright/Carlyle Group involved with trying to recover the money owed to Kuwait by Iraq, while Baker has been all over trying to get other governments to forgive the Iraqi debt.
Lisa Myers reported this and it was up on the MSNBC site the night of the debate. Lisa Myers being a "media whore" was suspicious but it made the mainstream press, where normally "The Nation" articles are only circulated around amongst us "Liberals/Progressives."

This says to me that DNC/DLC or Progressive forces behind the scenes are working to try to get DeLay and Baker out of the picture, or give them a warning that if they try anything, there's more to come out about their "activities" in the past.

It's out of our hands and all we can do is hope to turn out the vote in such huge numbers that questions will be raised all over the US if folks show up and find they have been purged off the polls or that their polling place is closed, or whatever else they can do on election day to turn away voters. Early voting may be a help or a hinderence...I'm not sure about that but here in NC voting started today. What happens to those votes? Can they be tampered with as easily as on November 2?

I can imagine terror alerts, incidents whatever on election day. Anything is possible. I just have to hope that just once something breaks our way, and we have more help "behind the scenes" than we know or has yet been revealed.

I'd hate to think some of us gave up three years of our life fighting these crooks for nothing... :hippie:

18. Here's an article from USA Today, setting the stage for just what you say
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 07:40 AM by KoKo01
in your post:

Election protests already started
By Jim Drinkard and Kathy Kiely, USA TODAY
More than two weeks before the presidential election, Democrats and Republicans in key states are trading accusations of fraud and voter intimidation, foreshadowing an Election Day on which lawyers may be almost as important as voters.

Complaints from both parties, routine in election years, have reached a fever pitch earlier and in more places than usual. From Oregon to Florida, shenanigans with voter registration forms are being alleged, and authorities are looking into the charges.

"The more people realize that a tiny number of votes can have a huge impact, the more aggressively they are going to fight," says Doug Chapin, director of Electionline.org, which monitors voting practices. "The closer we get to the election, the more we're going to hear about this." For example:
-SNIP-

In Florida, scene of the 36-day recount in 2000, the state's Southern Christian Leadership Conference asked the U.S. Civil Rights Commission to investigate activities "designed to cause confusion and suppress the African-American vote" in the Tallahassee area. Labor and voting-rights groups also sued this week to prevent the disqualification of more than 10,000 incomplete registration forms. They said such disqualifications would disadvantage minority voters.

• Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, a local co-chairman of Sen. John Kerry's campaign, wants the county to print 938,000 ballots, far more than the usual number, to accommodate a flood of new voters. But County Executive Scott Walker, a local co-chairman of President Bush's re-election campaign, is giving the city 679,000 ballots — 10,000 more than were printed for the last presidential election. He says having a large number of excess ballots would be an opportunity for fraud. Local District Attorney Mike McCann plans to deploy more than 30 lawyers on Nov. 2 to mediate polling-place disputes. He says "malevolent challenges" by partisans could interfere with voting.

• Republicans circulated excerpts of a national Democratic Party election manual urging recruitment of local minority leaders to launch pre-emptive strikes against voter intimidation, even if there's no evidence it's going on. Democratic spokesman Jano Cabrera said the material was taken out of context. He released a fuller excerpt that stated, "The best way to combat minority intimidation tactics is to prevent them."
