Rightwingnut hero Gen. Franks; SB Liars a buncha "political hyperbole"

Damn. That means something I gotta give Franks the bastard credit for. I HATE giving that bastard credit!

And guess which site carried Franks' remarks? FREEREPUBLIC.

"Retired Gen. Tommy Franks, producer of the early military successes in Afghanistan and Iraq, said Sunday that criticism of John Kerry's war record is political hyperbole and Kerry is "absolutely" qualified to be commander in chief."

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1187542/posts

Of course, the freepers started denouncing their hero Franks. Do they kill their own parents and/or children who dare to NOT be freepingly stupid rightwingnuts? Probably.

2. Tommy Franks is a little like John McCain
I think he's basically OK, but he is a GOP party loyalist. Like a large number of Republicans, he's not going to have an enviable or enjoyable time of it over the next few years.

Sure, it makes him "the Enemy", but not a scumbag. That difference can be huge. Tommy Franks and John McCain are loyal to their team. The Bush cabal members are loyal to themselves alone, and will resort to cannibalism on nothing more than a whim. Franks and McCain have a sense of honor; Team Bush has no shame, let alone honor. Franks and McCain believe that telling the truth is important; the Bushies think they have the power and the right to invent the truth.

America, the Constitution, and the People are things that Tommy Franks and John McCain have sworn to protect and defend. To the Bushistas, they exist for the cabal's pleasure and profit.

You might think this is just so much fancy parsing of words, but it's important to a lot of people on both sides. It will dominate the "conversation" within the Republican Party and the Conservative movement for many years to come.

But first, they must purge themselves of the stain of Bush.

3. Yeah, and when Kerry WINS, they have an OBLIGATION
To their COUNTRY to rein in the wingnuts they psyoped into a frenzy so that we can GOVERN. Their "respect the preznit ALWAYS" BS will be magically overturned as if it had never been, of course. Just a dream.

People like Franks and Zinni, et al had better STEP UP and help HEAL, or we will lose more ground with their shit talking freepery. Grrr.

Meanwhile, at the hague...

4. It will be easy to sort 'em out
The decent ones will pitch in and help President Kerry.

The culture warriors will make a scene or two and resign, then spend the next ten years on the lecture circuit whining about how the Libbruls persecuted them (like Gen. John K. Singlaub did in 1980).

Although there are a lot of culture warriors in the military, most of the conservatives are the old-line traditionalists. They'll get behind anyone in office who isn't a complete fool. Which may explain why a number of conservative ex-military officers are coming forward for Kerry.
