zogby says not enough Democrats voting with Kerry
Kerry needs to close the deal with his fellow Democrats. The fact that Bush is pulling 89% of Republicans, while Kerry receives only 79% of support among Democrats should be seen as worrisome.”

This is total B.S.

I do NOT believe he is including the number of newly registered Democrats

This election is ours

John Kerry will be the new President on Nov. 3

3. The number of 'Democrats'..
...who aren't really Democrats -- southern legacy Democrats, the remainder of the 'Reagan Democrats' -- far exceeds the number of 'Republicans' who aren't really Republican.

Zogby is comparing apples and oranges.

5. Look, I have been canvassing and I don't think so
The list used by canvassers is people who may not have voted Democrate in the past but were once registered as Dem. 98% of those people are voting Kerry.

9. Democrats by far out number Repubs. Why do you think the Repubs want low
voter turn outs? Democrats are also least likely to participate in online or telephone polls. Not because they don't or won't actually vote or care what's going on, but they are too busy trying to make a living to worry about answering the phone or getting online to do a poll.

11. Everyone seems to be forgetting
The over 7 million 18 year olds that are old enough to vote this election season (who are not being polled) along with all the other new registrations. If the vote turn-out is indeed the 118-121 million expected, that heavily favors Kerry.

Also, keep in mind that only people with landlines are getting polled. As discussed in a previous thread, most people now only have cell phones. These polls are not giving a real view of what's going on out there!

Stay positive and remember...

we will always get a lower percentage of registered Democrats than the GOP gets of registered Republicans.

There are still a lot of conservative Democrats left (especially in the South) who mostly vote Repub but haven't changed their registration.

13. What bothers me about the 89% of Republicans is
that it is the same as any other year, isn't it? There will be Democratic crossover, no doubt about it, but less than normal. The Republican crossover will also be higher than normal, who knows why the polls don't show that, but I know it is true.

14. It's not like their surveying laundry detergent
I would expect a few respondents with malicious intent. Just enough to skew the poll. It would be to the 'Pugs benefit to create the appearance of indecision.

I trust Mark Zogby's results for the most part, I don't expect them to be perfect.

I just wish he had a box for *'s job performance labeled "disastrous".

17. "not including the number of newly registered Democrats"
My fear is that the voter rolls themselves will not include many newly registered Democrats, either. All these reports I'm reading about GOP goons throwing out Dem registration forms really worries me.

On the other hand, last night I went to election judge training and the voting official leading it said she had never seen the surge of registration she's seen this month.

If that's happening in the little burg I live in, that must be a sign that it's happening across the country. They can't throw out all these new voters' paperwork, can they? If they do, won't it seem strange that so many people who thought they were registered will be turned away?

18. Something has changed there and I wonder if it's what I think it is
In a poll within the last few days (and I thought it was Zogby), the Dems were coming on strong for Kerry and the repubs weren't doing that well. Did anyone think that the sudden turn in this poll is due to the NRA endorsing Bush?? A union leader on C-Span several years ago talked about how they had their guys up and ready to vote and then the NRA moved into town about 3 weeks before the election, started to blast their ads, and they figure that in the end about a third of their guys voted for Bush because of this issue. Is that what is happening?? If so, they deserve to be left with no job, or low pay, and their stupid gun to play with.........

21. Based on canvassing in Georgia, this is pure baloney
bush even has more ADS here in GA as the dems have put no money into this state, and yet every dem I talked to was big pro-Kerry.

This just doesn't make sense.
