It's time for the President to apologize to Mary Cheney
I would like for the Human Rights Campaign or a similar organization to release the following statement:

During Wednesday's debate, when asked whether he thought homosexuality was a choice, the President responded that he didn't now. Apparently, the President believes that the sexual orientation of gays and lesbians might be nothing more than a lifestyle choice. In making this suggestion, the President demeaned not just Mary Cheney, but the entire gay and lesbian community.

2. The Cheny's are using their daughter for political gain
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 10:04 AM by Aiptasia
When I watched the news last night on CNN, I saw how Mr. & Mrs. Cheny were "outraged" and the "cheap political shots" that both John Kerry and John Edwards were supposedly taking against their lesbian daughter.

Did they bother to watch the debates themselves? I thought both Kerry/Edwards were both treating the subject with utmost respect, whereas George Bush was clearly trying to dodge the question on whether or not being gay was a lifestyle choice or biologically driven. I thought it was despicable for The Cheny's to both suddenly twist the issue out of context, and they do owe their own daugher an apology for dragging her through the political mud.
