Did anyone catch this during the debates?
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 10:53 AM by MARALE
When talking about affirmative action, all Bush* talked about was education. Was he saying that minorities just need education to be equal? Was he saying that minorities are not educated? I found that remark to be one of the most prejudiced and stupid remarks that I have ever heard a high office holder say. I have not seen any threads on this and wondered what everone else thought.

edit:spelling kos i kandt

1. * only spoke about education
Period.

Oh, and he made a lame joke about the media, too.

So two topics.

3. Education is the answer to everything
According to Bush that is. It will fix affirmative action issues, outsourcing, etc, etc.

I currently know 3 colege educated friends who have been unemployed since last Dec.

4. Educated in seperate and unequal schools
That is the real education plan of GWB.
The shool for the wealthy, and the public unfunded school where the poor go.
There will be no middle class in the new world of GWB.
The poor will be taught how to wash dishes and wax floors in the wealthy mansions.

5. I noticed that too....

He talked about education whenever he didn't know the answer to a question. Apparently, people with Master's degrees and Ph.Ds who are out of work are supposed to go to community colleges to be "educated" for the "jobs of the 21st century" (whatever they are.)

6. Bush wants poor whites without jobs to think they are that way
because the uneducated and unqualified minorities unfairly got the jobs that should have gone to them(whites) just because of race.

8. I caught that as well
And it infuriated me! How dare he even suggest the reason minorities don't have good jobs is because they just aren't educated. That, in my opinion, is like suggesting minorities are too lazy to better themselves.

9. He said it about jobs too. Bush thinks the unemployed are stupid
Hopefully he'll confirm that projection in three weeks when he joins the roster of the jobless.

10. Probably one of those thinking people with brown skin can't speak english
I hate those bastards. HATE them. At my shitty high school someone once told me I spoke English "very well" on account of my last name (Ortiz). I wanted to punch the little shit in the throat.
