Two Kerry Campaign workers JUST knocked on my Door.......... |
|
Happy to see in a Town that Kerry will easily carry (Philly) that the Dem's are still hitting the side-walk looking for votes.

it's not about winning towns...it's about winning states. you win philly by 40% and you don't have to do as well in rural areas...

4. Did you give them a big welcome and thank you? |
|
Please do make these grassroots people feel good about what they are doing. Block walking with personal contact is really hard work, even if they are paid workers. You sometimes make their day with your excitement.
Go Kerry/Edwards!!!

8. we're volunteers, not paid |
|
and we've been going door to door for our local candidate (including tomorrow; see Pennsylvania), and Kerry meetup volunteers have been at our door. We're all intent on knocking on every door in our districts.
PS: And this is in 2-1 R Central Pennsylvania.

5. Canvassing can be uplifting in light of the polls |
|
You get to talk to the people and get a good sense of where things really are. People sometimes want to talk about the issues which is part of why you are out there.

My sister and I have been canvassing for the last two weeks, and at first we considered skipping the houses that already have K/E signs, since they're obviously committed voters and our time might be better spent with the infrequent voters or ticket splitters.
Then we figured it might perk up the Kerry people to know we're out there and visible, so we went ahead and canvassed the houses with K/E signs anyway. Turned out to be a good idea, since we've gotten several volunteers for the final push from doing that - and those houses have been a lot of fun to visit.
We're heading out tomorrow for another full day of canvassing - it's time to bear down and get this thing won.

10. The dems need to be talked to every time.... |
|
One of the problems (sorry to say) is that the dems are flakier than the repugs.......we are the ones that don't vote regular......if we can stress to the people the need to VOTE, and increase the dem participation by even 5% we will win this thing hands down!

9. I have been canvassing and working the phone banks |
|
here in Portland.....It's always a pleasure to talk to someone who as is fired up about Kerry as I am........on another note....of all of the Bush supporters that I have run across, none of them has been nasty to me.....I keep expecting it, but so far it hasn't happened. The ones who get grumpy are the ones that just don't want to be bothered by anyone...
