Poll question: Will Karl Rove have a crap if Clark wins nomination
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 06:41 PM by jeter
The GOP have been running attack ads and acting as if Dean has the nomination all sewn up. However Clark is showing serious strength and may even win the New Hampshire Primary or come in a close second, which is as good as a win for him - especially if he finishes ahead of the inept Kerry.

If Clark comes out of New Hampshire with all the momentum and the party rallies behind him in order to "stop Dean" what will Karl Rove's and the republican party's reaction be?

2. Option Three
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 06:36 PM by isbister
They will jump for joy because they know the only thing better than Dean would be the inexperienced, republican lovin' Clark.

If Clark wins, we'll all be watching commercials of Clark tout bush and his policies until November.

10. Ha!HA!
Clark is as close to a rebublican as one gets. Which is why he'll never get my vote. In the general election, I hope there's a third party on the ballot in my state if not I'm going for a write in vote which I have never done before.

16. I was thinking of writing in Mickey Mouse
But Im also toying with Space Ghost.

I was gonna nominate Ross from friends, but I dont think he is getting back with Rachel before the end of the series and can you imagine the great outfits she would wear? What a shame.

27. but if everyone just writes their own name then Bush will win
enough people write in "Mickey Mouse" (I believe it is the most popular write in) so at least Mickey will have a decent chance.

Whatever Rove plans to do to one candidate, he'll plan to do to any candidate.

Ask Max Cleland if the GOP fears Democratic military heroes.

An antiseptic war, fought by pilots flying safely three miles high. It seems almost too good to be true—and it was. In fact—as some critics suspected at the time—the air campaign against the Serb military in Kosovo was largely ineffective. NATO bombs plowed up some fields, blew up hundreds of cars, trucks and decoys, and barely dented Serb artillery and armor. According to a suppressed Air Force report obtained by NEWSWEEK, the number of targets verifiably destroyed was a tiny fraction of those claimed: 14 tanks, not 120; 18 armored personnel carriers, not 220; 20 artillery pieces, not 450. Out of the 744 "confirmed" strikes by NATO pilots during the war, the Air Force investigators, who spent weeks combing Kosovo by helicopter and by foot, found evidence of just 58.

General Clark cooked the books.

Go into the GOP vaults and grab a video of that fundraiser where Clark is praising Team PNAC up one side and down the other.

"We Need Them There" - General Wesley Clark will become the official tagline of the Bush Jr "re"election campaign

30. I think that is easily explainable
Jesus, those comments were made after September 11th, when the WHOLE country had rallied behind the President. Why attack Clark for rallying behind Bush as well?

The problem with that GOP strategy is how easily it can be turned around.

All Clark has to say is this: Yes. I supported the President after September 11th. I supported him strongly. I supported him 110%. I thought we needed a leader in that time of great stress and I believed that President Bush was offering the country leadership. I stand by those comments. However, the President let me down. He let the country down. Instead of attacking Al Qaeda and going after terrorism in a serious way, he got distracted and got the whole war against terrorism derailed - losing international support, not following up on terrorist leads, getting involved in another costly war - by attacking Iraq. Iraq has cost the United States more than $100 billion. The war in Iraq has cost the US more than 500 of its finest young men and women. The war in Iraq puts into jeopardy all the promises made by this administration in the first days of the war against terrorism. My support is not unconditional or my loyality is not blind. I believe this administration put its own interests ahead of the national interest. For that reason, I stopped supporting the President. For that reason, I think the President should go.
