My crappy day just got a little bit brighter

I wake up to more Mary Cheney crap. Then Zogby's latest numbers. Too add insult to injury, it's a yucky cold and rainy day.

So I head out to take my kid to piano class, and I see that someone has come along and took down all of the Mongiardo for Senate signs that were along the main road and smacked up a couple of Bunning signs. My blood is boiling.

I drop him off and head over to the public library to browse and wait until his lesson is over. On the stop sign at the corner there, someone has plastered a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker to the back of it. Now I'm incensed.

On the way back home, I get behind a minivan with the following bumper stickers:
Defend Our Country - Defeat Bush
Vote Democratic

Wow, that brought a much needed smile to my face. It's not every day here in SE Kentucky that you see something like that. It really brightened my mood and fired me up again.

On a side note, I think this is a perfect example of how effective signs and stickers can be, because that was so encouraging to see.

4. Every sign counts...

I live in enemy suburban territory, so I know the feeling. In the past two weeks Bush's Freedom Lovers have torn down many signs. One large one that was spay-painted was left standing in its vandalized state, but multiple smaller Kerry/Edwards signs sprouted around it. A nice metaphor.

It's so sad they have to silence our voice to express their own opinions. I was ranting about the Mongiardo signs being taken down in the car and my son (9 and already political) said that we should just take down the Bunning signs too and I explained to him how wrong that is to do.

Just goes to show you the difference between us and them.
