Scripps, I've never heard of it.
I hope Kerry starts to pull away and soon, because I'm getting worried. Granted Bush is only up by a hair (1-2pts) or tied in all the major polls.

9. Not having a major media contract is probably a reason to prefer that poll |
|
Certainly most of the major media polls were off by 4-5 points last time around. So having a recognizable name does not make a poll accurate.
Only Zogby was close, and he only was close due to a big surge for Gore he measured in the last couple days. Before that, he was showing Bush with a 3-5 point lead, just like WP and Gallup were.
Of course, I have no clue what Scripps' track record is, but I have no reason to believe they are any less accurate than any other widely respected polling organization.

But the survey also suggests that Kerry continues to claim a large lead in key battleground states. In these 13 states, Kerry held a 53 percent to 43 percent advantage among likely voters.

Is a big popular vote loss, and a big electoral win.

what's more likely is a larger EV win than popular vote win.

in the polls on ED, I would expect to win the popular vote by 2-3 points.

The poll also shows why the Repugs aren't letting go the Mary Cheney thing:
"An overwhelming majority of voters believe it was wrong for Democratic nominee John F. Kerry to have mentioned in Wednesday's presidential debate that Vice President Cheney's daughter was a lesbian, according to the latest Washington Post tracking survey.
Nearly two in three likely voters -- 64 percent -- said Kerry's comment was "inappropriate," including more than four in 10 of his own supporters and half of all swing voters. A third -- 33 percent -- thought the remark was appropriate."
Ignoring this won't make it go away. The Repugs are gaining traction with it and the media is going to let them use it to beat us over the head with. It's all they've got and they know it.

I am sick of some of the people here who live and die with bullshit polls. But since you believe them all- here are a couple you will not want to slit your wrists over. It's no wonder some people stereotype us as whiny liberals.
