1. What the hell is going on???????? |
|
Bob Barr says: "We have allowed the war on terror to totally undercut our civil liberties."
When did we step into the twilight zone? Are we seeing the leading edge of the revolt of the moderate republicans?

2. Just the fact that you called Barr a "moderate Republican" |
|
...proves the Twilight Zone factor.
Just as recently as 1998 (Monica impeachment mess) Bob was considered the scary edge of the right wing fringe. A distinction he shared with Buchanan. Now days, both of them are sounding pretty reasonable compared to the neo-convicts.

Did I mention I just woke up from a 30 year political coma? :eyes:
So, didn't know who Bob Barr is/was. He sounded pretty moderate to me.

5. For all his many flaws, Barr is a card-carrying ACLU member |
|
He is not the most unreasonable man ever to serve in congress.

7. Libertarian-Republican |
|
Barr has always been in the Libertarian faction of the Republican party; he's publicly rebuked on many occasions the president for the invasive sections of the Patriot Act. He's even an advisor (or something to that effect) to the ACLU!

Also a RINO - He ran as the Libertarian candidate for President in '96 if I recall correctly.
Seems to be a decent and honest guy, actually.

The bat-shit crazy stuff was to win votes. If he himself were really that crazy, he wouldn't have the sense to get himself elected.

10. Wolf couldn't wait to get them off so that he could put on |
|
Carlos and his "I'm talking in a great big circle" babble. Why can't Blitzer spend some time when he has good guests? Why is it that he and Judy are always in such a hurry to get to 'nothing' stuff? It's understandable if there is some breaking news, but usually there isn't.

That fruitloop at no problem trampling a sitting President's civil rights in his zeal to further the Republican agenda - manufacture evidence to support ongoing investigations in hopes of finding one that would support a political impeachment. Make no mistake....the Republicans declared war on Democrats many, many moons ago. And they're this close into morphing the US into a one party monarchy.

15. The emerging moderate Republican |
|
Bob has seen the writing on the wall. He sees that the conservative house of cards is about to crumble, foundation first. The conservative movement has been exposed for the big lie that it is. Bob's hoping to survive the fallout.

17. Bush has a lot of enemies on all sides of the fence |
|
Do not be surprised to see many more Rethugs coming out of the woodwork to bring Bush down. They don't like the heavyhandedness Bush brings on THEM. Don't forget, they are trying to refine all the house/senate Republicans into a single, neocon voice. This means they hate the libertarians as much or as more as they hate liberals.
