What does it mean when Bob Barr is the most reasonable man in the GOP?

That is not the same nutbag guy I remember from the Clinton years.

He's talking about protecting civil liberties!

6. Barr has always been a Libertarian. He stands with Republicans

on issues like drug policy. He does not believe that terminally ill patients should be allowed to smoke marijuana for medicinal affects. He likes mandatory sentencing and three strikes rules - even if they prove to be "cruel and unusual". He loves the idea of building more prisons.

And then there's that nasty issue of the Defense of Marriage Act. I do not know if he still defends it but it stands as one of the biggest loads of crap ever introduced in the House.

EDIT: To his defense, I laud him on his stance concerning privacy issues. He well understand how big a bully the government can be as a former federal prosecutor.
