2. The absolute height of hypocrisy
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 07:49 PM by Wubette
John Kerry can't talk about it but everyone else can until it's beaten like an old dead horse.

They must think Americans are very stupid.

5. A shallow distortion to distract
This is completely ridiculous. It is so obvious that there are no real emotions behind the Cheney families' offense at Kerry's statement. It's a brutally obvious tactical move, and I cannot believe how much coverage it is receiving, particularly by CNN.

12. Welcome to DU, Canadian Ryan.
I totally agree that this is merely a distraction. Kerry shouldn't respond to the bull crap but rather call it for what it is. "The president is attempting to divert attention from his record by exaggerating." And he should say exaggerating the same way the idiot did Wednesday night.

16. Don't forget the Swift Vets
The campaign decided not to respond to that one, and look where it got us.

I think he should respond, but I don't think he should apologize. I don't think he has anything to apologize for.

Working at HQ tonight I met 4 gay and lesbian Kerry supporters who didn't seem put off at all by his comment. It's not bothering the base, therefore, but we don't want it to effect the undecided vote the way the Swift Vets decided in August.

8. I turned to CNN to watch the interview with Kerry
and they went on and on about it, discussed something else a short while, now they're back to it AGAIN.

10. This spin is meant to erase Kerry's image from the debates that
was so presidential, etc.

It's meant to degrade Kerry... Candy Crowley hit it again on Paula Zahn in that interview he did.

She is just so ...slimey.

11. Listen. They're trying to out-do Fox. It's pathetic. Lou Dobbs has a poll
on his CNN site tonight about the Kerry/Mary Cheney thing. Lou Dobbs! Someone on the Kerry forum suggested we vote, or better yet send an email to Dobbs. I refused to vote. Here's my message:

I won't answer your poll question about John Kerry and Dick Cheney's daughter, not because I don't have an opinion, but because I refuse to be part of the Republican Campaign's or the media's game of jumping on the emotional hot-button issues to avoid real campaign issues, especially at this point in the race. I've come to expect a more focused line of debate from Mr. Dobbs. My guess is that he's not the one with veto power over tonight's question.
