Washington Post. He is a "Style" section reporter, NOT a front section or editorial page guy. He sometimes writes articles on TV appearances of political importance too, such as State of the Union Addresses, debates etc.

When he reports on these, he usually addresses the superficial showbiz aspects of the performance and not the substance. How did the person look, what was their delivery and "zinger" factor, etc. From what little I've read of these, he seldom has a kind word for Democrats and appears somewhat of a shill for shrubco.

Screw him.

7. I read the op/ed page online but no longer live in DC area.
I got very disillusioned with WaPo with their shilling for Iraq War and read it a lot less than before.

No, I didn't read Shales' coverage of the debates this yr.

3. Nobody on Tweety thinks John Kerry will win. . .and anything that happens
they say is "bad for the Kerry campaign."

As is "It rained today."

"Yes, Chris, and that is very bad for the Kerry campaign."

8. Washington "groupthink"
Shales is part of the national news media, whose conventional wisdom is shaped mostly by conservative opinion makers, who bully and dominate the liberals like Shales into hating themselves.
