Let's hope that's the last of this idiotic non-story.

1. stop feeding the monster
by continually paying attention to today's media action item straight
out of the white house press room, you get the thread to continue.

Everyone should just drop it, especially in any media email.

3. These are Kerry's remarks
If he didn't want them reported, he wouldn't have made them! :eyes:

9. He was asked
What's he supposed to do?

If we stop feeding the monster, it'll die. If we hadn't fed this to start with, it would have died.

7. Stop overestimating our impact
This story took up the better part of the first half-hour of Paula Zahn's vapid newscast tonight. You think it's because of all these threads on DU?

We're getting our ass handed to us on this issue. Mentioning Mary Cheney in the debate has become THE story of the third debate. Like it or not, that's the reality.

10. Anderson Cooper said that Lynne Cheney's outrage had been viewed 295 times
on network news in the past 48 hours (that was before Paula Zahn came on like gangbusters). Don't know who is keep tabs but I am sure there are folks checking.

Yes, Paula Zahn has been obsessing for two evenings now. Had a very nasty Liz Cheney on last evening for a Bucks County town hall format. Liz is a real chip off the old block, very hateful. But I have NEVER heard Mary Cheney's voice. But I guess the Cheneys exited a bus today with Mary NEXT to them, not being made to leave by a back door later. Isn't it about time we allow her a voice, to get her licks in?

I keep hearing about how Mary is a "young woman" "a child". She is 35 years old, almost middle-aged. She has been a gay activist, a gay liaison for a decade at least. She is working in her father's campaign. Since when are campaign workers insulated??? She isn't a 13 year old Chelsea Clinton being called looking like a dog by the likes of Rush Limbaugh.

2. But just as hard-headed as W:

He said he's never regretted voting for the resolution to go to war in Iraq (news - web sites).

6. He said more than that
Why would you think the media reported him accurately? He said they voted to give Bush a gun, they didn't tell him to shoot himself in the foot with it.

And yes, you wouldn't give Bush a gun, but unfortunately he's the only President we've got. The country can't just shut down because you don't like who's in charge.

5. I think this is my last post (and first!) on any of these MC threads. Did
anyone ask Mary herself to comment on this? Did she?

8. If I were on the other side
it would be amusing to watch this go down. It is the same ole same ole being repeated over and over and it seems we never learn. Why are we letting them control the message?(the really absurd message) Isn't there anyone out there who can come up with a one liner that zings them for the hypocracy and turns the discussion back to georgie's lies, iraq, inadequately armoring our troops etc etc etc....

12. It's our "bought" media that is controlling this message.
Let's face it, most of our media has become a state propaganda machine run out of the White House. Sig heil!

that was said on our side that the media would not let go of and then it finally died ..and it never really mattered worth a shit.

It would be Wonderful if someone could give a Zinger as you say..how did Chrissy Gephardt do today..does anyone know?

13. Another example of excellence in reporting
Kerry wasn't asked to name three things he did wrong. I'm almost positive he was asked to name one thing he did wrong in the last three years.

And he named one. It certainly takes a village, and they're all in the media. Thank God Koppel isn't a resident.

17. Is this story dead yet?
It served its purpose of keeping the "I'm not concerned about OBL" video out of the news cycle, and now it's time for it to go bye bye.

Fortunately, this story will die over the weekend.

Not a fucking moment too soon.
