1. You are correct IMO
It's way too late. It would be too obvious.

2. I am with you. Far too close to the election. People don't trust them
already, and many would see it with great suspicion.

3. I think it's too late for just about anything for boosh
All they have left is him crisscrossing the swing states, slandering Kerry. But Rove was testifying for 2 1/2 hours today re. Plame outing. Fitzgerald may have a timely surprise for us all!

7. I think they will bring him out on Oct 31
It is the last Sunday before the election.
It will get them all the Sunday talk shows PLUS the pulpits.
No time for some one to say, he has been in custody all along.

8. Either Rove really is brilliant, or they have no backup plan
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 08:17 PM by realcountrymusic
The Bush campaign is flailing trying to keep its small advantage, almost completely focused on motivating its own based by stirring up rage against Kerry (thus the Mary Cheney thing is either a mistake or an attempt to insist they *are* ashamed of their gay daughter). They are changing message every day, and off message a lot of the time.

Kerry still has momentum. It may be slowing. But Bush will not regain momentum this way, and the only thing that would do it would be something positive, and very big. OBL would be a wild card hail mary pass that could backfire, so if they have him it will be last minute and in desperation.

The one negative that could also be a wild card is a terra attack. Not sure how it would play at this point. Would depend on the event, the toll, and each campaign's response.

RCM

Best. Anti-Bush. Song. Ever.

10. Don't misunderestimate the idiocy of the people.
The media would drive it and Bush would win, obvious or not. The fact is Bush should be losing by 80% but people are so brainwashed and willfully ignorant that he's got a very good chance of winning despite the outright crimes he and his crew have committed. I have zero faith in the American people.

11. OBL is dead, but they will "find" his DNA in last week of October
My reasons for assuming Osama is dead are:

Have not seen a single video in two years.
Saw news items of his video's appearing like clockwork
on Al Jazeer a Tv in the middle east until battle of Tora Bora.
Have seen several video's of Ayman Jawahiri, #2 Al Qaeda
chief, as recently as last month. But Osama is stragely absent.
Osama video's are a huge inspiration to acquire new recruits
for AL Qaeda, yet nothing.

12. Even if they did, how would people take it?
I mean, wouldn't the timing be a little too suspect to ignore, even for those who aren't involved in politics? There's no shortage of suspicious apathy these days.

13. October 16th was my bet for the date.
But yeah, it would look too obvious now. But the problem is, the race is so tight that even if a sliver of people were really impressed and not suspicious, it might throw things.

14. I agree. However, I've been waiting for Saddam to suddenly 'confess'
about his weapons programs and helping terrorists. I'm sure we will find his diaries any day now.
