1. I'd say they've dropped from a 5 to a 1 in about six months to a year
It's just garbage. Both sides are pissed at them because they're so sloppy in all of their reporting.

23. CNN has disappointed me
Until not long ago I enjoyed watching CNN. By and by I have become aware of CNN's changing from what I thought was acceptable to what they are now that is in my opinion neo-conservative.
I have become disenchanted and have stopped watching CNN for the most part, although I tune in from time to time hoping that I am wrong. Every time I tune in I feel more insulted than the time I tuned in before.
My God, what is happening?
Is it them becoming more and more conservative, or is it me objecting more and becoming more and more liberal?
Whichever it is I am concerned for my opprobrious impression of what is happening to this country.

5. From Daniel Schorr to Paula Zahn! CNN redux.
They are the worst because they know better. Walter Isacson (Moron #1) whored in public to the House Republicans in order to get some market share. What a fool. He did the most to ruin the network. The current network head, aka Moron #2, has finished the job. They distort, they denigrate, they lay down on the job.

8. I quit watching CNN
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 08:25 PM by nownow
when Bernie Shaw and Ted Turner bailed out. If Ted was no longer to be involved, there would be no more 'small l libertarian' viewpoint guaranteed, which I could handle because it wasn't right-wing pandering all the time. I always thought a lot of Bernard Shaw, and when he bailed out, I decided it was time for me to turn out the lights, too.

10. I only watch it PASSIVELY when I'm in a business or
public place that has it on in the background. Tonight I had the misfortune of watching the Candy Crowley interview with future President Kerry. I respect him for getting through that interview with class.

Those days, if they ever were, are over.

I was too young to remember when CNN was respected. I watch it today and feel none of that.

16. I still think Jeff Greenfield is the saddest
example of someone who was courageous in his youth and who has sold his soul for money . The former McGovernite has allowed himself to become comedy relief for this sell out network . He was absolutely pathetic in his answer to who won the third debate . It was clear he knew that Kerry had won but he dared not buck corporate direction . So he gave an equivocal cowardly answer that would shame his former self .

21. I gave it a two for its occasional live event access.
but, as a news organization, it has become a propaganda arm of BushInc, probably because Saudis own a big chunk of AOL now.

It especially saddens me since I had been a CNN devotee for over 15 years. They started showing their bias against Dems during the last Clinton term and have lost credibility almost totally since 9-11.

29. 1 is the lowest I could vote - Any residual respect
from the "old days" I had has been trashed during the last 3+ months. Today's CNN is an insult to what it used to be .
It was here on DU that I realized that it wasn't me - CNN had morphed into something akin to Fox - seeing the reference to "Certainly Not News" was my epiphany for pulling the CNN plug for me.

31. I respect Lou Dobbs, and Aaron Brown
and Anderson Cooper is just fabulous eye candy. I never listen to him, I'm too busy drooling. But I'd much rather watch him soaking wet and tethered to Rob Marciano (ahh a fantasy that came true) than hear him attempt to shill.
We can still watch it for eye candy right? If I turn the sound down?

35. Reporters have a right to be partisan in the voting booth, not on the air
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 12:31 AM by kokomo
Even thought I suspect Dobbs is a fiscal conservative Republican, and Anderson Cooper, a Vanderbilt heir and probably a Republican (but then look at Jay Rockefellar), I feel both try to be neutral.

I think CNN's morning and day crowd are the worst, even making Katie, Matt, and Regis look like bona fide journalists. Something about Bill Hemmer grinds on me. Maybe because PlayGirl voters rated him #1 to be seen naked and I would never get that honor in this lifetime( but are PlayGirl readers even women?). Jack Cafferty will never be an Andy Rooney....he is just hateful without any sense of humor.

When I found out that Daryn Kagan was dating Rush Limbaugh, I started turning her off and switching to Judge Judy, and then there is "Judge" Judy Woodruff. Jon Stewart "outted" the Crossfire gang but then we suspected them to be nothing more than blowhards all along. Blitzer can't contain his neoCon Zionism, and Larry King will pander to anyone (but Kitty Kelley of late since he had to choose between her and Poppy and Bar Bush). Aaron Brown tries too hard to be a cross between Walter Kronkite and Mr. Rogers. I feel like he likes to preach to us from his high pulpit.

But MSNBC isn't any better, and Fox I won't even honor with my remote control.
