Andrew Sullivan blogs on the Mary Cheney flap
I know that Sully is sort of persona non grata here due to his conservative/pro-GOP leanings, but hes running a good blog on the Mary Cheney thing, doing pretty articulate (and occasionally withering) job deconstructing the Team Bush/Rightwad spin

http://www.andrewsullivan.com/

a sample:

BUCKLEY ON MARY: As usual, impenetrable. But civilized. And, at times, quietly contemptuous of the views of someone like Gary Bauer. Compare it to Bill Kristol's hysterical notion that mentioning someone's publicly acknowledged homosexuality amounts to "McCarthyism." Yes, he's lost it - but for a good reason. The reason is that Kristol can see when he's been check-mated. It is indeed difficult to base part of an election campaign on the inferiority of a whole group of citizens if the family of the vice-president includes two (Mary and her partner). Kristol is incensed that the old gay-baiting tactics won't work - because you actually have to bait your own offspring - and that Kerry has finally had the balls to call this bluff. Still, let the record show: this is the first time in history that Bill Kristol has ever written a defense of gay people. Again: better late then never.

3. He is pro-GOP?
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 09:10 PM by jerryman814
He lectured a week and a half ago at my college about "Friendship" and a lot of the issues he dealt with (abortion, gay marriage, etc.) were left leaning. I also saw him on C-SPAN arguing against Repukes after the VP Debates... Are you sure he is pro-GOP or just one of the few fair Repugs?

I'd be really surprised if he is pro-GOP considering he is gay.

if that clears anything up! bush has pushed people like this to be more moderate and sane, instead of blindly following their ruler

6. AH okay...
I really enjoyed his views on politics, culture, and anything really. I recommend for anyone to visit his blog and www.tnr.com (The New Republic) to read some of his published articles. They are very entertaining and informative.

4. Kerry should have called her "rapture challenged" instead
I'm just kidding. I wonder what the bigots would have preferred as a term.
