Pat Buchanon pisses me off.
He is such a Republican cheerleader, it's pathetic.

2. but he actually does have some integrity
He has been highly critical of Bush. He wrote a book "Where the Right Went Wrong." Also, he is actually suspected by some of having been "Deep Throat" during Watergate.

3. he has hated Kerry since the Nixon days....
He was Nixon's speechwriter when Nixon tried to destroy Kerry. Don't be fooled by the old right-winger, Buchanan...

but yes, he does get old.

18. I agree he's bitchy toward the Bush bunch, but he also has
the same attitude as Bush - my way or the highway. He's no different than any other right-wing, just maybe hasn't gone down the road as far as others, but he's still on the trip. Close your eyes and think of him in the bully pulpit; it's not that hard to see him there.

7. man, he's a total nazi
He's anti-Semitic and I can't forget that commercial of his in 2000 where there was a voiceover that said something like "do you want to take back your community"? or something like that and there was Mariachi music in the background. Yeah, that was really wrong.

8. Send them "feedback"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5445086/

Pat Buchanan has NO BUSINESS discussing John Kerry at ALL. He has a personal history leftover from the Nixon administration and the hatred for Kerry is palpable.

This is the worst show I've ever seen on MSNBC (and that's saying something).

16. Thanks!
I see there is a new poll on SCarborough's site that asks if Kerry's mentioning Mary Cheney's lesbianism was appropriate..indeed it is (62-38 @ 136K). Yet Pat seems to think that this will bring Kerry down. What a hypocritical blowhard

9. Actually, he is REFORM PARTY
and if you were to call him a republican, you'd have to put him in the NIXON GOP crowd. He gets paid to take the side he takes, but truth is, he does not agree with a lot of it. He is no choirboy, he is a racist, isolationist, homophobe, who thinks any other religion except the Holy Roman Catholic Church will doom its followers to a life in everlasting hell.

He is a strange guy. But he thinks, quietly, that a chimp could do better than the Chimp in Chief.

They pay him, he whores for them. Lame stream media, whaddayagonnado?

13. Me too, but not as much as the neo-cons.
For a Republican, he seems to be a little different and is not in lock step with the others. I think he has been called a paleo-con (old conservative?).

14. How about that screen trailer: "Can Kerry Catch Up?"
Frozen there on the MSNBC screen, when virtually all of the polls show Kerry either tied or in the lead.

15. He showed polls showing the opposite
and then reminded us how Kerry doesn't "connect" with people, people don't like him, and a whole litany of faults, flaws and other unproven problems with Kerry, even suggesting we should have nominated a different candidate...

I finally turned the channel. I can't watch Pat Buchanan.

17. You notice the polls they showed had Bush leading.
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 09:35 PM by cat_girl25
What bullshit! That idiot still says that Bush won the debates. And did you see the question that says will the Cheney remark lose the presidency for Kerry? I finally turned off the damn tv listening to this jerkoff and that repuke that was on with him.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I couldn't help myself; I love puns.

So it isn't a hijack, I hate Buchanan, too, and don't even give him credit for his Bush cricism.

22. Why does that suprise you ?
Buchanan often disagrees with his party not because they're too far right.. because they're not right enough on social issues.

Yeah, he's a populist on some issues and an isolationist, but so were the old Thurmond/Wallace Dixiecrats. Buchanan is a nativist, just like they were.

With people like Buchanan it's important to step back and look at what their true goals and motivations are, not just their positions on a few issues here and there.

Buchanan wants a white Christian nation. He is a protectionist because he wants to protect "the foreigners" from "stealing" white Christian jobs. He is an isolationist and doesn't want to be involved in "the foreigners'" problems because he doesn't want them to have a reason to ask for help or want to come here to live.

25. Thank you; I cringe when I see him defended on DU.
For those who can find him palatable because he criticizes bush:

Read ANYTHING he's written. He keeps his real agenda in check for the big media bucks, but his writings tell a vastly different story.

He isn't an ally, he never will be an ally, and I never want him to be an ally.
