The ACLU of Ohio announced Thursday that it will represent GOP Chairman Alex Arshinkoff and his wife, Karen, in a growing dispute over a political sign in the yard of their Hudson home.
The city has filed a complaint against the Arshinkoffs because they have a 32-square-foot Bush-Cheney sign in their yard. The city's ordinances for temporary yard signs allow a maximum of eight square feet.

Asked how he felt about being represented by the ACLU - a group that sometimes champions liberal causes - Arshinkoff said, "They are good people. I haven't always agreed with all their stances."

Jody Roberts, communications manager for the city, said the city is merely enforcing an ordinance that is designed to maintain Hudson's tidy appearance. She said the city has received many complaints from residents about the Arshinkoffs' sign.
